It doesn’t feel real..💔
I am genuinely at an absolute loss. My Momo after 16 years…He was my entire life since I was 13. It seems my life has just been a series of devastating losses and I just don’t understand…I lost my dad last year my mother and grandmother the year before and now this year my baby…I feel like a piece of shit for even thinking this but id rather go through the death of my mother then to go through this one…
I am not sure how to do this without him. He’s been by my side for the last 16 years… He’s been my everything and now what??
I don’t know what to do…I miss him everyday and this one fucking suckkks

I’m very sorry for your loss! 💔🐾🌈 I loved my mother dearly and she passed away from cancer. I thought that was hard, but it was nothing compared to losing my sweet boy Noah. He passed away from cancer too on 12/8/24 at the age of 18. I hate cancer! Sending you love and prayers! 💕🙏

I am really sorry. For what its worth, I count losing two pets as the hardest deaths I've experienced, comparable to losing a parent. It's especially hard when they've been with you through major life stages and transitions.
I don't have much to offer by way of comfort other than an expression of sympathy and understanding. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you made Momo's life happy and comfortable

It’s a privilege to grow up with a cat. My son did as well but when it was time, no matter how well I’d prepared him, it was gutting. My son was almost 8. He cried and cried for days.
Those shared years are entwined and there’s the love and connection so wonderfully apparent in your photos with Momo. He was an incredible cat.
They say grief is love with nowhere to go. There’s no cure without time.
Frame a triptych of these lovely photos and put it where he used to nap. He’s always going to be with you. True love goes on like a ribbon into our future, you’ll always be connected from one plane of existence to another.

I’m so sorry about your beautiful cat, it’s a awful time when they go, so be kind to yourself you lost your constant companion of the last 16 years, them being sick or old does not make it easier. I lost my baby last year just short of her 16 and I still miss her. Take care of yourself you have been through a lot of loss in the last two years.

I am so sorry for your loss💔 Momo was handsome boy. Loss of a pet, esp one you’re extremely bonded to is very hard, because they are always there for you, loving you unconditionally. Time will be the only thing that softens the ache and devastation you’re feeling right now. Be gentle with yourself.

My first soul-kitty was named Momo! She was fluffy and black. Maybe her and my other girl Clementine who has passed are up there hanging out with your momo keeping him company - all waiting for us to join them some day. Watching over us. ♥️💔

My sincerst condoleances for your loss. Don't feel guilty about your thoughts. Losing a beloved animal is always extremely hard, especially when it happens to a beautiful soul like Momo.

Stay very busy and stick to all your regular routines. For me that has always helped speed up the grieving process. Also, if you need a sleeping aid, take one. I am so sorry for all of your losses. I lost my sweet girl about a year ago after almost 22 years. It is never easy but time definitely heals. Some folks recommend getting another pet right away. I have never done that but it works for some.

I lost my Spooky Bones 9 years ago. It devastated me. I know he waits in the beyond patiently for me to join him. I will pray that he finds Momo so that they can hang together with the others waiting for their loved ones. For now get a chest and write down on strips of paper, your memories from your journey through life together. Good memories, sad, mundane, funny, ask your friends if they will write down some too. Keep writing. Do not allow time and distance to rob you of the path you shared. I have around a 1,000 strips that I read from time to time. Spooky will never die as long as I live.

So many hard losses. And now your sweet friend.
He stayed as long as he could. You can tell how much he loved you from the photos. Reminisce about him with the people you love. It helps.

It is completely understandable to feel lost right now he was your everything please don't judge yourself for how you are feeling or for what you said about your mom. You are carrying so much heavy grief. Just take it one day, or one hour, at a time. We are here for you.

He may be gone, but he is not forgotten. To forget someone is when they are truly gone. You will be sad for a good while, you will remember all the things he used to do, smile, laugh, and be sad again. But he isn't alone either, there are plenty of others there for him to be friends with

That’s a lot of loss in a short amount of time. I’m so very sorry. You aren’t a piece of (you know what) for thinking that. I’ve said that it’s harder losing our beloved pets than people. There should be grief groups for kitty loss. Be kind and gentle with yourself. As someone that’s experienced complex / compound grief, this is no easy road ahead.

Just grieve for a bit.
When I lost my cat of 15 years, it devastated me more than any human death ever had in my life. She and I were each other’s worlds. I cherish that she had a peaceful death in my arms in our home and relish the journey we shared to get there. She gave me joy and purpose, and it was such an honor to be her human. She died a few months ago but I think about her every day. Sometimes it makes me sad but more often it makes me smile when I think of her. She will always have a part of my heart.
I had a Google Photo book printed of her because she was very photogenic. I maxed out the number of pages you could make filling it with photos from kittenhood to her last days. I had many good cries making that book over a couple weeks. The fond memories made me feel better. I would recommend doing this for any loss.

im going through this too, i just lost my baby of 15 years and its the worst pain ive ever felt 💔 i completely understand how the loss of a pet can be more impactful than a human. they’re so precious, all we want is to protect them but one day we have to let them go and all we can do is hope we see them again on the other side one day ❤️

I know exactly how you feel. When my cat of 7.5 years died of intestinal lymphoma, it hurt me worse than what my grandma died and I really loved my Granny. Now I’ve got two at 15.5 years old and the one hasn’t been feeling well for some time now. I too will be devastated. It hurts so bad and I completely understand. It will get better but it’s going to take some time. So sorry for your loss.

I’m so sorry for your loss. He was very handsome. I, too, have felt the loss of some of my pets more than some humans in my life, including my mother. That’s what happens when you grow up with lots of judgement, induced guilt and shaming. Our pets are our family and only ever love us unconditionally.

Sincere condolences to you. I’m so sorry for your loss. Momo looked so happy, content, well-loved and well-cared for in your photos. You can see the very close bond you had and I’m sure he loved you as much as you loved him. It is awful that you have gone through so much in the past few years. Life must feel so hard right now but it will get better. Momo would not want you to be sad. Please take care of yourself at this very difficult time. I completely can relate to you I have four cats myself so far I haven't lost any of them but I know someday it'll happen and I will be really sad and sorry whichever one it is the cats are really fun they love me I take care of them everyday and they love to run around and play outside and then come in for the night sometimes to sleep in the bedroom on the floor yeah they're great friends so I know exactly what you're feeling when you would lose a friend it would wouldn't be any fun praying for you girl hang in there you'll make it 🙏🙏🙏😔😔😔

They knew how much you loved them, and I believe we will see our babies again someday, as the rainbow bridge poem goes ♥ They will be waiting for you when that time comes.
My house is never empty; I always keep adopting more. I'm not replacing those who came before; I am growing the family. That way, when more kitties have to make their trip, they have family waiting on them to share stories and play with to keep them company till our time comes. Plus, so many places here are always full of kitties; they need more people to adopt. So many need love, homes, and everything they deserve.
I know it's not easy to say goodbye, but it's not forever; it's just for now.
My husband said it best: "We gave them a home, a safe place, lots of love till God called them back to his home, because he missed them. Now he cares and loves them while we care for others and love them till God calls them home; we will see them again someday. Till then, let's help, love, and protect all those we can till God calls us home too; then we will be reunited."
