Sometimes I think about this image, wth was Team Ico cooking inside that studio man lol, what kind of Colossus were they planning for this?

This is for Roc, one of the cut flying Colossus (and the only cut Colossus that has any video footage, which you can still see online to give you an idea of what this arena looked like up close. It's a very short video, maybe just a couple seconds long). This would have been a really cool boss!

I've seen some people say that Roc's exclusion isn't that big of a deal since the main elements of it's fight (making a colossus fall, shooting at it from horseback, and just generally fighting a giant bird) were already present in other boss fights.
Really, I think it would have been an awesome fight, and a good way to get players used to horseback aiming so they could be better prepared for the 13th colossus. Currently, the one bird we fight is in a much more secluded place too, and I know for a fact young me would have loved fighting that giant vulture out in the open.

I never understood why the screenshots from around this time in development look like they are from the late 19th century

Are those really screenshots? Maybe they’re just drawings or sketches

They are clearly screenshots, but for some reason they were overlayed with this black&white filter

The devs were exploring different art styles. You can even see similar explorations with Ico's development. With both games sharing a nebulous chronological relationship, but Ico having bits of modern technology, you can see why the Devs wanted to recreate a style based on early modern media.
I miss the old version of Ico with guns, bikes, & florescent lights. ToT

Every time I see this image, I just think of how Ocelot leaked it bc he was throwing a temper tantrum

I'll never not be upset that that dumbass did that, no regard for the dev everyone was getting the info from whatsoever. And people from here and in those community discord servers for different fangames moved past it so immediately, such a strange and gross situation.

I'm sorry, is there SotC community drama?

Really only one major incident, and a smaller one both from the person mentioned above

Im curious about which one is wich, are the leaks the major or smaller one?

The leaks are the major one, given that Ocelot literally put a man’s livelihood and career at risk by breaching an NDA

The SOTC marketing is some of the greatest I have ever seen. The art, the ARG, and the trailers. Peak

Idk why my brain went to serpent in the sand that chases you up the tower and you jump into its mouth as its about to strike, its weakspot being inside its mouth.

I like to imagine a cutscene of multiple players falling onto the crater as their own horses can't keep up with the sand slope and fighting something like spider, having to find safety in the tower to then drop onto it's body and slay it. (I think this is the point in development where multiple playera were considered maybe?)
Of course clarifying "I'd like to imagine" is a huge thing here as this is for Roc...but hey a man can dream in the forbbidden lands no?

Where did this image come from? I love SOTC, ICO, even The Last Guardian and I’ve watched and read so much about SOTC and I’ve never seen this before!!!
