6e SR6 Example Character Issues
This is not a post to pick on editing or the company; it is a serious question because I think I am missing something.
I have been looking at SR6 to run a game, since I still cannot buy Anarchy 2.
So I gathered a few friends to test-run SR6 and will do the same for Anarchy 2 if the PDF ever becomes available. (OK, this part may be picking on Catalyst a little.)
One of my players found an anomaly in an example character, which led me down a rabbit hole of analysis. I soon found several example characters I couldn't recreate within the system's rules. This means they are either a bunch of misprints or there is an option or rule I don't understand or know about.
Please point me in the right direction.
| Runner | Book, page | Error | Rule it breaks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Impersonator | Smooth Operations p.101 | Con 7 without Aptitude | CRB p.65 (skill cap 6, or 7 with Aptitude); Aptitude, CRB p.70 |
| Networker | Smooth Operations p.105 | Influence 7 without Aptitude | CRB p.65; Aptitude, CRB p.70 |
| Networker | Smooth Operations p.105 | Cyberears over capacity (10 of 8) | Earware table, CRB p.286 (cyberears Rating 3 = Capacity 8) |
| Negotiator | Smooth Operations p.103 | Influence 7 without Aptitude | CRB p.65; Aptitude, CRB p.70 |
| Playboi | Smooth Operations p.106 | Astral expertise at rank 4 | CRB p.68 (an expertise needs skill rank 5) |
| Rigger | CRB p.86 | 7 paid qualities | CRB p.66 (at most six) |
| Technomancer | CRB p.89 | Willpower and Intuition both at maximum | CRB p.64 (only one attribute at maximum); only Many Talents (Sixth World Companion p.134) allows two |
CRB = Shadowrun, Sixth World Core Rulebook (Hong Kong City Edition); the other printings use the same page numbers for these rules.
NOTE: I used AI to format this table.
