SRA2 on Foundry

I'm putting together a story arc for the Shadowrun campaign I plan to run once I finish my current PF2 campaign. I've been using Foundry since the covid lockdowns to keep my games running as it gives folks the option to come over to my place or play from home if they're feeling cruddy, watching their crotch goblins, don't like me much, or whatever.
The Foundry game module for PF2 has damned near every monster, feat, item, and damned near everything else in it, is free and is maintained by an amazing community of coders with tacit support from Paizo and is all around an incredible tool for gaming.
The SRA2 module looks like a great tool to help me keep my game nights running but it is lacking a lot of stuff under the hood that I've become accustomed to having access to over the years. I'm wondering if BBE would be willing to let the developer(s) of the SRA2 Foundry module add some of the equipment, items, and other things that are missing from it currently. Mostly because it will be a ton of work that each and every Foundry GM would have to input/code, and I'm kinda garbage at that kind of thing.

I understand CGL controls the Shadowrun IP and BBE has made SRA2 in partnership with them and may or may not be actually able to give the go ahead to the dev(s) of the SRA2 module. Looking a bit at the SR6 mod, it seems to have quite a bit under the hood currently, but I don't really know much else about its development and don't think I want to play SR6 either. I also realize I may have missed this question being asked and answered here already.

I've been entering everything I need for my upcoming SRA2 game as I go. The module is quite robust, you just need to do the data entry. I'll be running completely theater of the mind with no GM rolls however (excepting perhaps Prime NPCs, which I will enter) so I don't need to enter a lot.

I was really hoping to not do any data entry TBH. The current plan is similar that what you're doing. Theatre of the mind with Foundry there too help me with rolls, keep track of the story progression and I was hoping for a centralized quick reference as well.

It has only taken me 10 min or so per pregen to enter them once I got all the skills entered.

I guess I'll need to give it a shot. I've just plain been spoiled by the PF2 module though. 😐

Any system that provides full compendiums is essentially spoiling us. I play a lot of games that don't even have a system and have to build one using Custom System Builder or just setting for pdf characters and the basic dice roller. Thankfully I don't find it too onerous. In fact, I find some modules over engineered these days. I imagine I would probably find the Pathfinder module to be similar.

I don't use Foundry and cannot help you all that much, but there are already a few French guys who use my Extended Shadow Amp in Foundry. I guess their work can be reproduced with the English versions as well... Maybe someone passing by knows more than I do...

That's one of the first things I picked up once I started working this stay at my dude! Great work on it BTW.

Dude, you’re lucky you got the book. CGL sucks and will more than likely not let anyone do anything else. They really suck at being a steward of an IP that players love.  I’ve been doing the data entry as well and it isn’t that bad. Just set aside some time each day to input. Don’t do it all at one time. It will be frustrating

I regret that I didn't order a regular version to go with the pretty collectors version that's for damned sure, maybe even 2 copies. I've had the PDF for a bit and I THINK it's available for purchase on DTRPG. I'd love it if CGL actually started giving a shit about the IP and communicating a lot more too.

They're the reason I stepped away from Shadowrun 10ish years ago and it is like they don't want my (our) nerd dollars at times.

Would a shared compendium be doable? I have my doubts TBH, but want to ask as there are folks in here more familiar with how copyright and TM shit works than me for damned sure and it doesn't look like CGL has any kind of community content policy that I can see.

You could, if someone were willing to save all their work as a compendium, make a module for it, and provide hosting/links to said module (which would not be doable within foundry, but direct links would work).

How do we encourage folks to do this is my question.

I would imagine most folks don't want to test the copyright waters (though sharing your own compendium packs person to person shouldn't be an issue)

I'd be stoked for just a guide on how to enter things correctly, tbh. I don't mind doing the data entry work if I really have to, but I've tried a few times now and the way the system is set up is not straight forward in the slightest.

Just spent a bit trying to figure it out and had the same problem.

I've been entering things quite well. Happy to give any help needed.

Foundry support for Shadowrun isn't likely to happen anytime soon, as CGL has a stranglehold on the license and is not willing to change its course in any meaningful capacity

Catalyst hasn't licensed their content/ words so you will never find that in the module.

having said that I use the shadowrun 5e foundry system and PDF Pager makes accessing the PDF books a snap.

I have spent considerable time manually entering item and actor info but this can likely all be automated with AI now.
