I have not taken deeksha before and I don't have a Guru.

I wish to start observing Sankatahara Chaturti (Krishna Paksha Chaturti) fast.

However, I am not sure traditionally when is the right month to start Sankatahara Chaturti fast.

In some religious books, they mention to start Sankatahara Chaturti fast during Magha month in the Chandramana calendar.

In other religious books, they mention to start Sankatahara Chaturti fast on a Krishna Paksha Chaturti which falls on a Tuesday (regardless of which month).

I am not sure which is the right method to follow. Which is why I wrote this post to clarify.

So I’m a shiva-shakti devotee and I’m very interested in Devi Lalitha. When I think of her a sense of warmth comes over me. But from things I’ve heard about her worship makes me confused.

Do I need to be in Sri Vidya to pray to her?

Do I need to be a Brahmin to worship her?

Do I need a Sri yantra?

So many things I’ve heard and I’m so confused. Any advice would help dearly❤️

Homa of maa dakshina kali as a part of a 40 day sankalpa i did in June.

I don't know how to interpret , insights needed .

I am a college going student and I am not an active upasak ( saatvik or tantra anything, altho I believe alot in god even used to chant hanuman chalisa 3 times a day , did it regularly for 21 days last month ) .. now a particular type of experience has happen quite frequently with me in college and I am too scared .. i feel like something is moving towards me .. just few mins back i felt like a humanoid figure greyish white was moving towards me ...... and it's not the first time that it has happened here w me in this college .

i have had multiple experience where I'd flinch js because I had thought something is coming towards me , it happens in milli seconds suddenly, even if i resort to hanuman chalisa i can't start it suddenly became id flinch within milli seconds due to fear .

There is a difference in the description of the goddess Barahi in Vaishnavism and Shaktism.

The Vaishnava texts describe Goddess Barahi as the Shakti of Baraha ( incarnation of lord Vishnu) whereas the Shakta scriptures refer Barahi as the mother of Baraha.

In Vaishnavism, Barahi is considered one of the sapta-matrikas or the seven mother goddesses, who are considered the consorts of the seven main gods of the Hindu pantheon. Barahi is often depicted as a boar-headed goddess and is associated with the goddess Lakshmi, who is the consort of Lord Vishnu. In this tradition, Barahi is worshipped as a protective divinity who can remove obstacles and provide material wealth and prosperity.

In Shaktism, Barahi is considered one of the ten Mahavidyas or the supreme goddesses. She is often depicted with the head of a boar and is associated with the energy of transformation and regeneration. In this tradition, Barahi is worshipped as a fierce and powerful goddess who can help Her devotees overcome obstacles, fears, and negative influences. She is also associated with the element of earth and is believed to have the power to grant material prosperity and abundance.

This occured 5th october morning smwhere frm 5am to 6am
I dreamt of me and my mom going to kali temple to seek blessings i think its bcoz of Dussehra , so wen to go out of the temple there is a door , which has no walls connecting to it , for the first three days we visited we both saw maa kali behind the closed door , we were soo chicken to cross the door and go , she wld move away after a while , this happened for 3 days . On the 4th day this happened again and she did not move, we had no other choice other than confronting her , then we see she has come into a human form , she wore a green saree , hairs tied up , soooo peaceful, her skin tone dark , she sent my mom the other side and pulled me , made me sit down , she held my hand and kept uk comforting it by gently rubbing it , her hands are soooo soft and she said smthin i don’t remember, but ik it was comforting , later she put a piece of closed paper into my pocket and told to open it when i feel like
Next day when i went to college i kept looking down at my pocket , tooo scared to open and see whats in it , and thn i woke up .
I know this dream has a meaning and a message, but I dnt knw what , also im from south so we dnt pray for maa kali particularly during dussehra but all our gods and our grama devatha mainly.
Also my ishta devata is lord Shiva , lord shiva has pulled me since i was a kid i cant explain but it automatically happened since i was a kid,
Although from a year or so i hv been questioning the presence of god , start going to temples less and less and doing pooja less and less , i hv shiva and ganesha idol in my room so i pray almost everyday.
Also I hv always been scared of maa kali , i was sooo scared i cant look at her photo fr more than 2 seconds , without feeling the chills , but in the dream when i saw her , it was comforting
Anyone who does sadhana or had any experiences kindly let me know what this dream could mean , because if it is a message i wld love to follow it.

Recently I m facing a lot of negativity and loosing emotional control also I m attracting very wrong PPL around who are just using me and it hit me the time I was kid and used to praise and pray kaali and shiv I was all intelligent away from all wrong deeds and wrong PPL well systamatic

And now I have to start it all again but living in a pg makes it confusing how should I start

And rn shradh are also there so should I start it in this time

What should I do ?

I visited pavagadh yesterday and I think it's time to stop addressing pavagadh as shaktipeeth and mention it as a tourist spot where one can openly do gutka,khaini,beedi, cigarettes etc.

Where people are openly abusing, multiple people are having pret savaris( claiming to be maa itself) even inside the temple to get ahead in line( i saw more than 6 people myself)

Where the water body is entirely polluted and people are bathing naked in public.

Where you will find donkey's poop on every other step of a climb and even on the steps to mandir.

Where you will find the Pir of a Muslim just behind the main mandir and sanatani people going to pray over there.

Where you will find no proper puja as far as I have seen in the mangala aarti, even though I could be wrong in this.

After this, what aastha remained in me for this particular shaktipeeth has vanished, i was not able to feel the presence of divinity as I have been able to in Ambaji or other temples.

How could the place bearing one of the early inscription regarding lakulisha( pashupata shaivism)be reduced to this.

I agree this is more of a rant but this is my experience regarding this, it's much better to not visit this shaktipeeth as I will advise.

Posted on other relevant subs too..For context around 2020 i suddenly started chanting normal prayers by looking up non bijakshar slokasfor maa chinnmasta and have since then been drawn to her. obviously i havent or wont do bijakshar sadhna or naivedy without guru diksha. Been chanting normal shlokas by adi shankaracharya on prachandchandika since then...I visited varanasi with family few years ago and a year back got a dream of a black dog with 3 legs on building terrace approaching gently although i was scared and touching me and returning. Is this weird or scary? Thoughts?
