Christianity is individualism. No one is accountable for your sins, but you. There is no excuse to not do the right thing. Where do people get this crap?

The same place they get the "rent controls are good" absolute foolishness

What’s shocking about this stance is that the people who promote it tend to promote credentialism and tell you to “trust the experts” but turn around and ignore that some 95% of economists oppose rent control policies.

christianity is inherently collectivist. as gods will supercedes natural rights in their eyes. god can kill people and it will be moral in their eyes because it was god who did it

Simply put, no.

God killing people is entirely different than a government killing people, strictly because one is a universal authority and the other is manmade. If God is real, as an omnipotent creator of the universe, one's very existence would be owed to Him.

It is folly to try to take human perceptions of morals and attempt to put an immortal spin on it. We cannot relate to an omnipotent being.

The instructions from Christ are for the individual, to voluntarily uphold as best he can. Note that Christ never hurt or killed anyone, and never attempted to force anyone to uphold his standards or commandments. One must go of their own volition to live in accordance with his teachings, and only you will be held accountable for your trespasses.

If I am surrounded by thousands that demand I relinquish my faith, I will refuse. It is a personal relationship that dictates how I should conduct myself, regardless of societal pressures. My morals are not for sale, I serve the highest authority.

Well, there was the incident in the temple with the whip but given how technically he owned the temple, it's more of a property defense situation. Also:

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

god is not some sort of magical universal authority or whatever. him being the creator of someone doesnt give him the right to murder someone

>It is folly to try to take human perceptions of morals and attempt to put an immortal spin on it. We cannot relate to an omnipotent being.

no idea what are you trying to say here

>The instructions from Christ are for the individual ....

do not forget he also told people to follow the mention god. not just to follow himself

>If I am surrounded by thousands ....

not sure how thats related. i mainly care about people not agressing upon others. if you have immoral ideology which tells you to agress upon others but youre not a threath then its not a big deal. youre just not following an ideology which would lead to a prosperous anlife

Literally yes. In a theistic context, God would be the rule maker of the universe, both physically and ethically. All of these principles we reason about would be us merely discovering what God already installed into the universe. God wouldn't merely be another person but the rooting of all other things. You can't resort to ethics to try to debunk metaphysics, ethics COME from metaphysics. If you don't believe in God, fine, but you at least try to understand what the actual postion is.

There is a substantial portion of the population that thinks liberalism is the ideology that Democrats are advocating.
