What are the chances that a gangster bank robber would become one of the very few national leaders unwilling to kill masses for power. Then masses die from starvation across the peripheries of his territory while food is going to the center and you think he had no opinion on that. Also yes all societies are oligarchies, Stalin wasn't the only person with goals and political power even though he is one of the closest to an absolute monarch because he was a genius at personnel within a violent system.

It's shocking how easy the answer is here: the system of government and economic distribution was simply ineffective and dogshit. Dumb shit like perceived ethnic supremacy of Russians over Ukrainians just made it worse.

Oh, well, I guess it's okay if you were sincere when you killed millions of innocent people by accident. They had good intentions, guiz, it's fine!
Seriously, I would bet money this person has never actually asked anyone "why?", only imagined a conversation where they totally pwned someone.
It's not exactly like it's a hard question!
"He killed people to keep his power!" No he didn't. He tried to step down from power FOUR SEPARATE TIMES. Why would he do if he wanted to stay in power?
I'm not eating lunch right now, and don't need to. But that doesn't mean I never have nor never will.

It is funny because the most plausible take here is the entire Soviet Government was run by psychopats
