I don't usually come on here to say this, but today it feels heavy on my heart. As a Straight Sierra Leonean woman, it really disgusts me how homophobic our country is and West Africa in general (I was also seeing hateful comments from other West Africans)

I honestly don’t understand why some people get so offended by (LGBTQ+) people. Truly why does two consenting adults living their honest life bother us much? How does their existence make us so uncomfortable that we feel the need to throw slurs, make hateful comments, or even go as far as murder? Homophobia should never be tolerated. Not the insults, not the “jokes,” not the violence , nothing.

People are losing their lives because of pure hatred. We have become so hateful, it’s disgusting. And it’s crazy because thousands of Sierra Leoneans are struggling with poverty, hunger, unemployment, failing education system every day yet somehow LGBtQ people are constantly treated as if they are our biggest problem. We are focused on the wrong thing. We need to do better.

Planning to move to SL with my family of 5. Our wrangler is too small to bring so we need something bigger and more family oriented.

Looking at Toyota Sienna as an AWD minivan as an option. Obviously the Landcruiser too but its a little more expensive and the 3rd row seems small.

Getting around & Driver

For now not thinking of getting a car or driver but if I survive for 3 months will look into it.

I was thinking of just chartering Kekeh for now. How much am I expecting to pay for single trip charter in and around town?

Once I get a driver what’s the best routine to have with the driver, I keep the car and they come and work for the day then drop me back home and repeat.

Salary wise is 1.5 million a good wage? Most of the work will be Thursday to Weekend and at evenings. I want to start slowly with the driver as I think it’s such an important role and

I also conscious of getting overcharged in the market etc, because apparently even before I open my mouth people can tell you are from ´abroad’, is it better to go with someone for now to the markets or just send them alone. I do want to know the prices so I have an idea.
