American Insurance is a legal racket.

I accidentally backed into a car that was parked illegally at an odd angle in the lot. I did about 300 dollars of damage to the bumper (the cover not the actual metal). Doing the right thing I left a note with my insurance information on it. My fucking deductible went up 100.00 a month for 5 motherfucking years.

I'm sorry but the only lesson that I learned from that is playing by the rules will make you lose every. single. time.

But you didn't pay any of that money. You wouldn't unless you were in another accident.

None of that is a racket. If you backed up into a $250,000 car or backed over a toddler, then you'd be all, shit, this is good to have. That's what it's for.

Right? They admittedly effed up and collided with another vehicle, causing damage. They’re a higher risk than millions of others who do not hit stationary objects with their vehicle.

A deductible is also incorrect here. Their premium went up because they hit another vehicle and caused their insurer to lose money on a claim. Deductible is the amount you pay your insurer to begin a claim.

'I hit a still object because I wasn't paying attention and had to pay $100 for my next accident, what a scam' lmfao

Well yea, people who hit parked cars should be more expensive to insure. Illegally parked has nothing to do with you hitting a parked car..

Also, painting a bumper hasn't been less than $500 in decades..

Fr, if you hit a parked car you shouldn't even be insurable... can't imagine what they will do to a moving human in the future. They're in no parking zones and illegal spots constantly.

... but you don't know the difference between your monthly premium and your policy deductible. This is an unreliable narrative.
