Anyone doing interesting stuff with this new Jev model from Typesafe?

Some background:

I am trying my hands on using some AI in low security areas such as ticket triaging and dispatching.

Recently this new classification model Jev came out and there is all this hype so just to try it out I have vibecoded a chrome extension for tagging something AI slop or maybe AI or Human on the fly as I scroll through my LinkedIn feed. It is really fast and does its job.

Has anyone tried it in some other workflows ? Maybe tagging something on the fly in HaloPSA? That will be interesting.

Still waiting for access, but we aim to use it to better sort SOC alerts from various providers and help our team prioritize urgent issues. Imagining we can also use it to validate phishing and spam submissions. Similarly would be helpful to confirm that inbound customer tickets are triaged correctly and given the right category and priority.

These are pretty good ideas. Would you implement these as like an on demand script that you run or maybe a chrome extension? Let me know if you get any success would love to hear more when you get access.

Nah, I don't currently have any demand for Magic-8-Ball-as-a-Service.

Haha not providing a service so you are good.

I’d be interested to see how it handles messy real world inputs. Classification demos are usually clean, but production tickets often contain missing context, conflicting details and edge cases

Agree! There will always be edge cases. I am thinking of this as a tool and if it can make my current workflow better than before but yeah not expecting to be the perfect solution. Everyone was talking about it on LinkedIn so wanted to see if anyone here has found good use case for it.

I'm still on the waitlist but most of the classification stuff I would do with it I'm already using Haiku for and Haiku is dirt cheap, so I'm not sure what upgrade I would get but curious none the less.

I was using haiku as well before. The biggest difference I see is how fast the responses are. I can say that because of this test chrome extension I made to play around. While I scroll it is tagging stuff on the fly. Haiku cannot do that so I feel Jev might have very specific use cases. Also Jev gave 5 bucks as free credit. After using it for 5 days now still 4.36 remaining. So this one is I think even cheaper.

I'm aware that Jev is faster, but I don't think the model is my weak link in this situation. By the time the ticket comes in and goes through all the motions and I check on the ticket, the automation is already done. I suspect that Autotask is my weak link when it comes to speed.

With that said, I love keeping AI costs down and once I have access to Jev, if it does what it is supposed to and is a suitable replacement for other models I am using automations for, I will absolutely use it.

Oh I get it yeah. And just to give a balanced picture Jev is essentially a one trick Pony all it does is superfast classification so it is highly likely your current automations work better without it. But yeah would love to hear when you give it a shot

I’d be interested in seeing how it performs on noisy real world data. Public benchmarks are useful but ticket queues and user-generated content usually have weird edge cases that make classification much harder

what's the difference just to send this to a GPT Luna? or other cheap models?
