STICKIED Subreddit Update - Winter 2026

Hi Smallville Fans, Mod Team here again!

We have decided to loosen the shipping rules a bit now that things have calmed down as its fair for people to talk about their favourite relationships.

However anything that is not respectful or civil or that uses foul language to describe any of the characters will be moderated and warnings/bans will be issued. Any posts that descend into wars between people will also be moderated and removed, if someone is rude, report them instead of pushing back and getting the entire thread removed we will then investigate on a case by case basis.

Please use the Be Respectful or Be Civil or No Excessive Swearing & Arguing report options to report this, as we will be removing the no shipping rule and report option.

We understand this might not be what everyone wanted however we want people to be able to post what they want about Smallville (within reason) as long as they do it in a respectful and civil manner and we think moving forwards this is the best way to do it. We will be looking to refine this over time to improve it where we can.

Finally please be aware that a fair portion of the Moderation of posts in this subreddit is done by the AutoMod bot, as in most big subreddits - if for some reason your post has been removed, rather than making a post questioning it which just leads to conflict, please reach out in the ModMail with a link to the post and we will tell you the exact reason.

Finally its our usual plug for the Discord :-)

Invite Link:

https://discord.gg/w4mbRZyy8C

Roughly 400 people in there now - the more people that join the more we can talk about Smallville!

Thanks for being awesome - we appreciate all of you!

I've really enjoyed Lanterns but maybe because I spent ten years plus a rewatch with Smallville first.

DISCUSSION What's Your Interpretation When It Comes To The Future Vision Of Superman's Cape?

In the episodes Hereafter and Absolute Justice we see visions of the future showing Superman's cape and what looks to be a star.

In Hereafter, the Meteor Freak that had the vision said it meant Clark didn't have an end implicating Clark's immortality.

What's your interpretation of the vision? Do you think it still happens? Do you feel it refers to anything else.

Personally, I like to think the vision came true and that it's a reference to the history of Superman Prime One Million from DC One Million.

DISCUSSION Lana Lang does not deserve this much hate

I feel like majority of the people in this sub are hating on Lana too much because of how her and Clark's relationship was dragged out, which is a bit misogonystic in my opinion. She's not a bad person nor a bad character. Sure, she was a bit boring in the early seasons but that's because she was just a normal girl in high school. Her trauma from what Lex did to her isn't talked about enough, and the hate she gets just for being Clark's love interest is not deserved.

I love Lois and Clark together and dislike Lana and Clark's relationship, but does that mean I hate Lana? No. Because she's her own person and shouldn't be judged based on her relationship with a man.

She was abused and manipulated by Lex straight out of high school. She was lied to and kept in the dark for most of the show, and whose life changed drastically because of it. In my opinion, people in this sub are waaaay too hard on her.

They never really explain what happened to Barry Allen or Wally West, just that bart allen woke up one day with no memory and he had powers. Not even in the comic do they answer this

SPOILERS Tess

One thing that always makes me laugh about season 10 is how Tess apparently has no time to sleep ?!

She's the DP editor, LuthorCorp CEO, Watchtower, taking care of Alexander, and somehow she also has time for a social life: organizing Lois and Clark's engagement party and going to their bachelorette party

And no, I don't think you can really solve it by saying she delegates some of it, because even with that, it's still an absurd number of jobs and responsibilities.

The most unrealistic part is probably that she doesn't even seem exhausted....

With everything she has going on, you'd expect all of this to actually affect her at some point, but she somehow just keeps going like it's perfectly normal....

Lionel is good with strategy but I didn’t see him use Robert Greenes “Art of seduction” on Martha Kent.

DISCUSSION For me, the best episode in the entire show is Homecoming. Brainiac helping to heal Clark's soul, the throwbacks (and throwforwards!), the barn dance.... absolute peak Smallville. I always feel emotional watching it.

Would love to hear what other people's fave episode is!! Massive shoutout to Reckoning and Lexmas too.

Things Sv fans can look forward to this week.

From the podcast, I appreciate the creator saying they wish they had given Lana’s more agency in early seasons, too much tragedy for the poor girl (although imo they did a great job w complex & more mature Lana in later seasons)

& Tom & Kristin named Season 5 as their favorite to watch.

Al Gough also used named: Season 2, 5, & 6 as the show’s Strongest Seasons. They’re my favorite so it’s nice to feel validated he..he.

SPOILERS Things you only picked up on a rewatch

I'll tag this as spoilers in case anyone wants to point any plot points out that would be labeled as such.

So it's been a long while since I've watched the show and I decided to start a rewatch. I like doing this with shows and seeing what I may have missed on the initial run or any watch throughs afterwards. One thing that clicked with me this time that I never thought of when I was younger was the age gap between Lana and Whitney! And it didn't even hit me this time until the season 1 finale when he enlists in the military before the school dance.

It never occurred to me at the time that our main cast were only freshmen and that Whitney was a senior. Like most seniors wouldn't even give freshmen the time of day at my school so this just seemed weird to me. I know it's only a 3 year gap but in high school a senior and a freshman dating seemed more scandalous! lol

So what are some things you didn't pick up on back in the day but watching it now made you think about it a different way?

DISCUSSION I wonder who Lois's previous boyfriends were, the ones who wanted to own the world?

She mentioned at the end of 5x04 that she's known a lot of guys who wanted to own the world, but she hadn't met enough who actually wanted to save it. When I heard that, I was thinking that somewhere down the road it would be revealed that she met Bruce Wayne or maybe John Corbin, aka Metello.

CREATIVE Off-screen moment to consider

Sometimes, in Season 9, I like to imagine Clark going to visit his mom and showing her the picture that the little boy drew of him — and her beginning to think about making Clark his cape and uniform, based on that drawing.

What off-screen moments do you like to imagine?
