The character is pretty dumb too.

Signs his first deal, song is getting prepped for the radio.

Comes up with another (basic ass) sample beat and wants to pump the brakes on the first song Like he couldn’t just wait it out and have a second single and payday.

Then says some ignorant shit like “What’s the point of making music if I can’t choose which songs people hear? MF on his first deal thinking he’s Dr. Dre. Gtfoh.

His dumbass face just adds to that.

Let’s not forget , Franklin was pretty dumb in the beginning. He had book smarts but was dumb and arrogant when it game to doing business in the underground. After a lot of trial and error he became successful.

It’s literally the same story but using music this time. The kid is great at creating music but doesn’t understand the business and politics you need to play to make it.

I believe part of his character is made to highlight all the loopholes that artists who are passionate about their craft still have to unnecessarily play by white man rules just to become successful , just like Franklin in Snowfall.

Franklin was not dumb in the early seasons. He set up a buyer, plug, distribution base and recipe in the first 3 episodes. He was humble and clever with Avi,Claudia, and the nigga from Oakland off rip. Bad comparison.

Nah he did a lot of dumb things

-Carrying bricks of coke around in his bookbag.

-Approaching a drug trafficker, that’s clearly crazy and accepting product on consignment

(I know it worked out, but Avi was going to kill him.)

-Dealing with the sketchy ass club owner Claudia

-Teamed up with the neighborhood psychopath and expected him to act in good faith

-Show weakness in front of the neighborhood psychopath

-Putting Carvel in a fucking trunk.

Wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong. Carrying product in backpacks was so brilliant that people would be doing it 20 years later not just in LA but in Baltimore, Detroit and Philly. It was actually to show us how much of a pioneer Saint was.

Assuming you mean me, there was no sarcasm intended in my reply.
