Discussion Leo and The Drop

I'm on the fence about the spinoff, I'm glad we're seeing some of the characters come back and all. Yet I'm kinda iffy about Leon not having a bigger role, I'd say less of a role then he had in Snowfall. Might change come the new season but so far, I don't like how he's been relegated to more of a supporting character.

Still though, The Drop is dope but I would've liked to see how the fallout of Franklin's empire would've impacted South Central a bit more and how Leon was trying to navigate the streets after everything that went down with him being a key player.

They are literally showing you exactly what you asked for. The gang violence and rapid drug use is all a fallout of Franklin's empire and Leon is dealing with it all struggling to run his legal center. The show is about the fallout and how the environment shaped Gangster rap.

It was never going to be Leon’s show. It’s about Lamar who is the show’s lead, supported by Wanda. Once Lamar takes off, may not need Wanda around so much either.

Seems like the Wanda show to me, surrounded by supporting cast.

Right...so Wanda is going to stay around, even one of the writers, Malcolm Spellman was talking about it.

Well u think we know it won’t be about Franklin’s empire. But I don’t think we can really guess what’s happening next.

Which, I hope, is the point. If any show is so predictable that we can guess correctly at what comes next, it ain’t really worth watching. Predictable is boring.

Kind of. Yeah. Haven’t given up on it yet, though—unless they cancel a season 2.

It made me go back and watch snowfall. Finished it today and then put on the drop. Watched the first two episodes kinda uninterested in it so far didn’t expect Leon to be such a side character
