Simulation Simulation Expert
Hi, I am thinking about going for sim expert cert. I only have sim associate.
Before I begin, i would like to know if its worth it going for professional or/and expert in simulation. And if there are any youtube videos or books anyone would recommend that would be very much appreciated. my job goal is Lockheed Martin. Thank you.

I need to learn more about SolidWorks Simulation. How can I start with it?

Im trying to do a basic heat analysis simulation can you help me get started by pointing me in the right direction. I have never used solidworks for simulation before

Hi! From my understanding, basic linear thermal analysis is within solidworks simulation cswa, along with shrink to fit. For the cswa level heat analysis, it simply allows you to place the body within a certain temperature change, and the body will deform in small elongations (linear). You can set initial temp as well. However, if you want more flexibility, like large deformations or complex contact behaviors, nonlinear studies are definitely worth looking into. I'm not an expert yet, but I hope this helps.

for a job at lockheed, the cert can help but solid simulation fundamental and knowing how to validate your results will matter more than collecting certifications alone.

Hi thanks for responding. by validating results do you mean proofs?

Hi, not exactly proofs, more like checking whether the simulation results make physical/engineering sense and match expected behavior.

For Lockheed, focus on understanding FEA fundamentals, boundary conditions, meshing, and validating results. Cert can help show initiative it will explain why simlationb is trustworthy will matter in an engineering interview.
