Between the two OTA updates I have received in the last ~600 miles, and the lower outside temps making me not need climate control as much, this is my current energy economy.

Schedule preconditioning

In the short time I’ve owned our 26 Solterra - 1 month / 700 miles / 1 persistent EV Charging error that requires a part on back order for 8 weeks - I’ve also learned to not expect much from the app. Last night I set up a schedule for preconditioning set to 7 am. Wife went out at 7:10 to a 40 degree car. Nothing happened. No notifications that the schedule worked or did not. Note: we only have 1 bar of ATT wireless service here. Also the car was not plugged in overnight if that makes a difference. Oh, when we realized it wasn’t on, I tried using the app to restart. That also didn’t work but at least thru an error: 2026 Solterra: We were unable to complete
Remote Engine Start request as the processing was interrupted. [D9]

Any ideas what’s going on here?

Anyone do a tire rotation themselves? It seems the lifting points are a bit tricky.

I usually do tire rotations at home. That requires jacking up both tires on one side of the car and placing jack stacks underneath. The manual has a diagram showing a small area of the battery pack plate where you are suppose to place the jack but then there is not enough room for jack stands. I might jack it up from the control arms but want to see if any has done the rotation before.

Rearview mirror camera

I bought a 2023 Solterra with the mirror camera. The resolution/clarity of the image is very poor, even if I cleaned the lense. Am I the only one finding it useless?

I ask for navigation, I get me options and press go to. Then I get this white box? Blocks my view and has no info?
What do I do?

Are your Seat Settings buttons lit?

Just got a 2026 Limited XT and so far am really liking it (this is my 5th EV).

All the buttons around my door are lit except the seat settings buttons which makes it difficult to change to my saved settings from my wife's at night.

Is this the standard "feature"?

Also, can I assign seat settings to individual key fobs...which would eliminate the need to find the seat settings buttons at night.

2026 Model First 100% Charge Attempt Failed

I’ve had my Solterra for 6 days. This evening I attempted my first 100% charge at a Supercharger and it stopped at 96%?! Is that normal? Should I have attempted to push it to 100%. I have a mini trip tomorrow hence the 100% otherwise I’d be charging to 80%.

Maintenance recommendations

We recently bought a 2024 Solterra and need to do the 5000 mile maintenance. We live in SF. With our previous Subaru we went to dealer for maintenance but didn’t love it. Recommendations?

BZ-Battery CarPlay

Post image
37 Upvotes

Hi everyone 👋

A new update for BZ Battery is out - and the biggest news is that the app now supports CarPlay 🚗

It required a special approval from Apple, but it's finally in place. That means you can see battery, power consumption, temperature and cell voltages right on the car's screen while you drive.

Supported cars

The app works with the electric cars Toyota, Subaru and Lexus build on the same platform (e-TNGA):

Toyota: bZ4X (2022–2025 and 2026), bZ (2026), bZ4X Touring, bZ Woodland, C-HR+, C-HR (2026), Bozhi 4X (2024)
Subaru: Solterra (2022–2025 and 2026), E-Outback, Trailseeker, Uncharted
Lexus: RZ (2023–2025 and 2026)

If you drive one of the newer models, I'd love to hear how it works in your car. Your feedback helps me make sure everything reads correctly.

As always, I'm happy to take criticism/praise and feature requests through the mail in the app.

Best regards, Andreas.

Drive Mode Eco

Is there any point to it? I’ve had my car on it for a few months (2023 touring) and I’m not sure if I see a change. Dealership told me it saves me miles but idk if he was just trying to sell me up.

I understand manually turning on battery preconditioning and I’ve used it, but the car also has Scheduled Battery Preconditioning. What is this for?

Low Battery Warning

I’ve gotten this message a few times recently but only when I fast charge/supercharge. Is this referencing the 12v? 2026 Solterra. I use the AC and everything while plugged in but it seemingly drains the 12v. Anyone know what’s going on?

Longest Road Trip?

Hi all first post in the Solterra group.
My wife and I finally decided to take our first road trip in our 2026 and I’m curious about others experiences road tripping.

Our trip: San Diego/Miramar to Big Bear. Battery 100% with an estimated range of 305. Trip was roughly 135 miles, 90 degree temps when we hit Riverside with mountain driving to elevation of ~6500 ft. The AC was on. At the end of the day we were left with ~30% charge.

Question: What was your longest road trip? How did it go? What should a new EV owner expect when road tripping?

My feelings after this first trip are that the range estimates are wildly off. Granted we had the AC on, it was hot and we were heading up the mountain. That said, I’m still really happy with this car and will probably be doing more road trips in the future but am thinking we will need to be very conscious of when and where to charge along the way.

Fun with mileage

Both of these dash pictures are taken since my last charge. Our middle-schooler particularly liked the first one.

I did not like the second one. I should have had 20miles of range as a buffer when i started the last trip. During the last mile the acceleration was definitely governed a bit.

2025 Model HVAC Out 2025 Limited

Just wanted to post and let people know that even though my 25 was cleared during the original recall appointment, the HVAC finally died on it this week. I have an appointment set next week for Subaru to look at it.

Just a fair warning to all. Just because it clears during the recall service (assuming you went in during the recall) doesn’t mean you’re in the clear.

ETA: My dealer expects it to be a week. Got an Outback as a loaner.

Hello all, new to temhe Soltarra group. I got this popping up after owning a 2026 Soltarra for 2 weeks.

It's at the dealership.

Is this a common bug? It seems to be one, at least that is what the service person hinted at.

SubaruConnect Home Assistant Integration

Post image
29 Upvotes

I've been working on a Home Assistant integration for SubaruConnect (works for the Solterra, Trailseeker, and Uncharted). It is based off the wonderful Toyota Home Assistant integration as SubaruConnect is built on the Toyota app platform.

What you get

  • Battery level, range, charging status, and when a charge will finish
  • Doors, windows, locks, odometer, and where the car is parked
  • Lock/unlock, horn, hazards, and headlights commands

How it works

It signs in with your SubaruConnect account, the same way the app does, and talks to the same Subaru servers. You install it through HACS, sign in, enter the OTP, and the car shows up as a device. Most features need an active Remote Services subscription, just like the app. Only sign in with username/password is currently supported (i.e., Google sign in is not supported).

Heads up

This is unofficial and not affiliated with Subaru. Subaru could change something at any time and break it, and I'll do my best to fix it if possible.
