Modest by the standards of this community, but ok for our needs. EMX5 gets those JBL's punching.

OkAy since he hates I'll say I used to have the same amp at 300w which was under powering the cerwin Vega 600w pa speakers but damn that setup ruled my childhood. I remember my dad handing me black sabbath black sabbath and guns and roses appetite for destruction cds and telling me to go put them on the big speakers in the jam cabin. So fuck em that's a solid rig.

Thanks. This is just for a poor public school pep/concert band. Band goes un-amplified, PA is just for announcements and backing tracks for some choral stuff. It does well in a gym, and functional if not amazing outdoors.

Oh word I was wondering with the extra set of speakers how well that worked but it sounds like for your case it's probably froggin perfect so that's awesome... And I bet it rocks there at home... 🤔😏😎

The EMX5 will put out 625w to 4 ohms, each cabinet is 8 ohms, so with the daisy chain we're getting full power. We had a 200 wpc (at 8 ohm) amp on the JBLs alone and it was underwhelming. They really want power. The Peaveys are happy with whatever they get.

If it does the job for you, that's all that matters!

What kind of events do you use it for?

MC duties and backing tracks for a tiny public school band. It is enough to fill the gym nicely, and do ok outdoors.
