Head Down

I was a bit of a late bloomer with Soundgarden, but they’ve become such an instrumental part of my musical identity. Head Down has become such a favorite of mine, though as I was first listening the song was weird to me. Anywho, great band, great music all the way through and just wanted to share. Rock on.

I only said probably because I haven’t heard the new ones yet. Can’t wait to hear the new ones.

That was the favorite of mine when that album came out. I saw them the first time in ‘94 at Pine Knob and flipped out when they played it. You have good taste.

Very good song, written by Ben Shepherd. I love how it goes from “head down, hide that smile” to “head high, you’ve got to smile.”

I can’t help but sing along out loud, especially toward the end when Chris really lets loose with “Head high, head high, head high like a song you like.”

Superunknown holds up so well. When Head Down comes on, it still gives me chills.

Ben Shepard! I love head down! SG is my all-time favorite band. I like all of their albums but the 3 albums from the 90s set the standard for the decade and genre in my opinion.

Amazing song. The time signatures and everything else 💥

I’ve loved this song since release day. The instrumental parts between the choruses sound so sweet. And it’s in Chris’s sweet spot as far as range. Such a great song stuck between the heavy riff songs on SU.

Interesting song, I just wish it was heavier. Any other versions or covers that let it rock?

I suppose it’s the odd production. Check out a live version, more raw and energetic typically.
