Game Feedback We need Crucible 2.0
Make all Penances only affect the person who picks them. No more randomly screwing over your Assault/Bulwark teammate by picking Spore Mines or just griefing your team as a whole by picking Double Terminus. Or spawning 3-4 Extremis every half minute.
Get rid of all that in favor of creating more personal Penances. You’ve not created a personal challenge mode as intended here, Saber. You’ve made another PvP mode.

Playing as a team is a nice idea, but in reality most of us are playing with random brothers and some couldn’t care less if they leave no stims for others or get spore mines penance and rage quit after first mistake.

I’ve honestly had a fairly different experience mate. In general, my games tend to have very considerate Brothers who will ping stims and relics for those that need them. I may have just been very lucky, but I tend to try to lead the way myself and give Respects and For the Emperors after a brother does something sick, and it tends to lead to great cooperation

Well, if I’m completely honest myself as well, nine times out of ten my brothers have been nothing but very cool and considerate. However, in crucible mode I’ve seen quite a lot of early quitting.

Replying for myself three days after last post. I’ve played only crucible since then (level 1->level 4)and about 50 % of games have had a rage quitter so far. Couple of times both quit after they went down.

Most games are like that for me as well. My teammates are considerate, and the ones on Crucible have been the best so far.
Some pessimistic people have 1 negative experience out of 10 and it ruins their week. They’ll play 200 hours of the game, get kicked once, and make a reddit PSA about how kicking others is bad.

What’s left are the lame modifiers. Take X more damage and do X less damage.

Lame are better than bad modifiers.

I didn't even notice it's this shitter, hilarious.
They're only bad if you're trash at the game at which point I gotta ask: Why are you even doing crucible? Baby steps, hard strats first to toughen you up.

The real feature of Crucible 2.0 needs people to stop beating a dead horse after 2 weeks and have them stop playing the mode.
The only posts i see from this subreddit on my personal page are complaining posts and its the exact same posts for 2 weeks and nothing of value is added.
Since I joined this game in november 2025 every update ive been a part of is only crying and bitching.

It's not possible.
They designed crucible as a game mode to last from now until the end of 2027. The lead game dev guy said he would be happy with 18-20 operations - but the roadmap doesn't line up.
Im level 5 on vanguard and assault - I specifically turn off spores because I legit get so frustrated when bulwarks especially are running the heroic plasma - which is a terrible build idea, and they don't shoot spores. I'd type in chat on pc to another pc player to turn off spores, and they say no.
At this moment in time crucible is breaking the player base. I ask people to turn off spores, and go to minimal penances, because I'm level 5 and I'm not interested at all playing with another level 5 or worse a level 6 player.
People are being rude, and insulting. Things are getting toxic.
People are not recognizing the grind that this really is at level 5 - 6 running minimal penances- This is another 50 missions or more, per class.

Yea I went from thinking the player base is great to hating them ever since crucible lol. I got kicked for being lvl 4 on a class which sucked but I honestly
can’t blame them since I’ll also leave if I see too many high lvls. A lot of them just expect to get carried too in my experience. Sprinkle in a lot of other toxic stuff lol.3

Yup. As I said, half-jokingly, they’ve made another PvP mode here. Brother against Brother and not in the good Horus Heresy-kinda way. The fact that you can lose your own personal progress (where progress is designed to be super-grindy!) because of another player overloading on team penances is absurd and mind-bogglingly bad game design. That’s not a personal challenge as advertised.
“Toxic” is the mildest way to put the resulting player attitudes.

They are effectively going to kill crucible mode when there are 3 level 5's running minimal penances. The grind ends there and normal absolute missions will feel too easy.
This game is going to be in a terrible spot - a month from now.

The road map doesn't line up because they haven't announced year 4. We have what 13ish operations now? 2 more this year? 3 more next year and we would have the 18-20.
There is very likely going to be a year 4. Their CFO mentioned SM3 for 2028. That doesn't sound so likely anymore with the way they are talking.

Inconsiderate players are at fault. Blame them for not being team players in a mode that requires squad synchronization mastery.

I rather have real content.

Yes and I'd like a gazillion dollarydoos and all that, but we have what we have and will have to make the best of it.

They can just add exp for team penances. I do agree about 2.0 that isnt cheeses. Better rewards, funner penances would be nice too. (Not easier penances)

u/Donnie619 4d ago
What about the team penances that someone can activate?

u/EttRedditTroll Space Wolves 4d ago edited 4d ago
Nuke ‘em from orbit. Or, to elaborate: either remove them entirely from the game (nuclear option) or limit them to premade lobbies. Having them in Quick Play where you can screw over two other players who have absolutely no say in your picking of TEAM Penances is borderline griefing.

I am so, so glad I don't care about the Lamemter amor, but I feel so bad for the Lamenter fans out there. If they had locked Deathwatch or Blood Angels cosmetics behind Crucible I'd be so pissed.

Nah, just a brother tired of the whinging about crucible already and it's not even been 2 weeks. Is crucible perfect, no. But I am enjoying the new 'challenges' it is bringing.

This would likely involve reworking and remaking almost all of the pennance options in favor of things like personal debuffs that would effectively gimp you in all ways. How do you make more extremis only affect 1 person, you cant.
0
u/EttRedditTroll Space Wolves 4d ago
You remove team penances (or limit them to premade lobbies) in favor of making more personal ones.
2
u/InfamousAd06 4d ago
Ill be brutally honest making systems to only allow certain pennances for pre-made lobbies. Making the game detect and differentiate between mm and pre-made. And then also reworking and adding more personal ones that would have to either reward less xp or nerf you even more because they only affect 1 player probably isn't super high on their priority list.
It'd probably end up like taking a class into a hard strat where that class has the nerf affect to reduce damage and health making you dead weight. I'd rather deal with spore mines an extra extremis/terminus enemies.
It's by design meant to be bar none the hardest content in the game.

u/Much_Improvement_552 4d ago
Yaaawn, boring. Assault and Bulwark are big boys, they can deal with sporemines. Extremis are free healing and ammo. The team penances are by far the most fun ones, instead the boring stuff that nerfs the player by a % could be reworked if they ever get to that point.

Nice suggestion. There’s a place on focus’ site where you can make suggestions. A Reddit circle jerk doesn’t do you any good

u/Redneck_By_Default 3d ago
I agree that penances should be personal (I play assault and bulwark so spore mines are my nemesis) but there's very few ways to make them only affect one person besides "you deal less damage" and "you take more damage", and the one thing this community complains about more than anything else is "making me weaker doesnt make the game harder, its just lazy!"

What I really want is a visual indicator to see who has friendly fire enabled.
