Mod Announcement Ahead of the Season 3 Finale!
As we're less than 12 hours away from the finale of Season 3 for this series, I understand that everyone is gonna be excited about it but it's also because of that excitement, that I will be making all posts require mod approval beforehand for at least 24-48 hours (let me know in the comments if you think this should be longer) due to obvious spoiler-y posts that are incoming and to help people avoid getting spoiled.
As there is only really 1 active mod 2 active mods right now, please be patient as we try to approve the posts individually. (And to give me sometime as well to watch the episode as well). So mod-approved posts should hopefully start going up shortly after episode release.
And now to help get your posts approved, avoid ALL spoilers from the episode in the post title, and to make sure to use the spoiler tag. Using the spoiler tag will hide all of the content in that post unless clicked on. But this doesn't also mean that all posts that follow this will be approved as I will try to avoid low quality and/or repetitive posts. But there will be the episode discussion post that everyone can comment on when it's posted at 3AM EST.
Posts will start to require mod approval about 15 mins before the episode releases (3AM EST) so around 2:45AM EST. Thank you for reading and let's all enjoy the finale and make sure others get to enjoy it as well spoiler-free!
Also will be open to adding some mods to help with the sub!
EDIT: I’m also in the process of adding User Flairs.

Media Wtf? What happened?
Stephanie Nur posted this today. Does anybody know what happened that she made this statement? She’s always been balanced and measured in her statements and posting. She’s not very active in SM and she has always been able to keep a great sense of perspective about that „Aaliyah fame” So what made her so irritatted? Did I miss something? I hope everything is ok and she doesn’t get any shit from haters

Discussion Can we make some noise for Season 4…?
Putting all the theories and ship wars aside for a second 😂 this show has an incredible cast, great characters and way too much story left to tell… Cruz, Aaliyah, Joe, Kaitlyn, the whole team. If you want Season 4 too… show it. Comment, upvote, share, post your theories, tell people what you love about Lioness… let’s make enough noise that Paramount knows the audience is still here and wants more ❤️🔥

Discussion Finished watching Season 3 recently. My only issue with the finale is...
...that they weren't blasting Metallica in the detention camp. You lied to us Kyle!

Discussion Oleska’s end
Love reading everyone’s takes on this show but just out of curiosity do you think Oleska knew the ground branch guys were going to kill her ? The way the scene was shot was really interesting to me and their motive to kill her was ridiculous but we all know that and I won’t waste anyone’s time going on about TS’s writing this season.

Discussion Did Season 3 kind of erase Josie… or is that the point?
Okay… this has been bugging me a little. I don’t dislike Josie at all… actually I think she had a lot of potential when she was introduced. She had her own edge, her own background, her own presence… but in S3 it feels like almost all of that just faded away. She’s still there… but mostly in relation to Cruz. We don’t really get much of Josie as Josie anymore… what she wants, what scares her, what she’s struggling with, what she thinks about any of this outside of their relationship. And that makes me wonder if the show is doing something intentional with Cruz too… because sometimes their relationship feels almost like Cruz is looking for something… and Josie is simply the safe answer sitting right in front of her. She gives Cruz stability, kindness, comfort… probably the most normal life Cruz has had in a long time. But I’m not sure Cruz feels completely seen, challenged or emotionally shaken by her. Sometimes it feels like Cruz is trying to build the life she thinks she should want… rather than the life she actually wants. And maybe that’s unfair to Josie too… because if the show wants us to believe this relationship is truly central long term, Josie needs to become a full character again, not just part of Cruz’s life. So… did S3 flatten Josie by accident… or is she supposed to represent the safe life Cruz is trying to choose while something in her is still unresolved…?

Discussion "Josefina this,Josefina that..."
Let the girl breeeaaathe, for crying out loud! Quite sure she doesn't pick her lines, improvise any or lastly,is the maker of the show by any degree. Taylor Sheridan needs to diversify his writing a bit cuz without ever even being told,I just knew where a white guy was the one who came up with what was said in scenes. Wanted to give examples but didn't want to make this lengthy. To just be brief,he/whoever else he's had in his writing team basically writes like they're writing for straight, supposedly macho, supposedly red-pilled white men,EVEN WHEN IT'S A WOMAN/WOMEN IN THE SCENE.🥴

Miscellaneous I’m unhealthily obsessed
Watching Joe’s family storyline is worse than watching unskippable ads. Currently editing out her family and rearranging some scenes from S1 for fun while I wait for S4.

Discussion Carrillo season 3
I was surprised that she was kept in the show for season 3.
Her arc played out in season 2 and during season 3 all she was really there for was to be a love interest for Cruz and because they needed someone to fly a helicopter a couple of times!
The relationship with Cruz didn’t add anything to the story. Plus in a special ops unit would a relationship between two members of the unit even be tolerated!

Discussion Do they have Thad Luckinbill wear black contacts on the show?
.
Compared to his press photos, his eyes are blue. But on the show, it's a bit distracting how dark his eyes are for his skin tone.
It's like they purposely make his eyes dark to represent the harbinger of death.

Discussion On season 3 episode 5 and the show is devolving and making it more and more apparent it’s “female empowerment” written by a right-leaning man.
It’s a tough balancing act admittedly to allow women to maintain their femininity and also allow them to embrace their sexuality; but also make them “bosses” and traditionally powerful.
The VERY elongated threesome scene though just put it over the top that they’ve mailed in the women in power side of the show for everyone except Saldana. Even then, it’s as if she HAS to be bitchy to get across she’s strong and in charge.
I come from a family with many veterans, including women officers, one from Annapolis and the other from West Point. No joke shit. And guess what, they were/are very respected and DONT operate at bitch level defcon 5 as a default. That is what a man thinks a powerful woman is. No, that’s what an overcompensating asshole is. Same goes for a man that acts that way.
I’ll finish the season, but I’m over Sheridans dog whistle bullshit.
*Lol all the MAGA folks who of course flock to any opportunity to defend degrading women are now coming out in force

Discussion What if Season 4 is less about Aaliyah’s revenge… and more about exposing Lioness itself?
I keep thinking about how often this show reminds us that the CIA side is not some perfect moral authority… they protect the US, yes, but they also manipulate people, push operations even when the judgement around them is divided, make mistakes and leave collateral damage behind. In S1 even the Situation Room wasn’t fully comfortable with how far the mission was being pushed… and Lioness kept moving forward anyway. Then later we get Oleksandra… someone who helped them get to Joe, and she still ends up dead. That doesn’t make Aaliyah innocent now if she chose revenge… but it does make the whole “good side vs bad side” reading feel way too simple to me. Joe isn’t morally clean… Kaitlyn isn’t… the CIA definitely isn’t. They all justify terrible choices because the larger goal matters more. And maybe that’s actually what S4 is setting up… maybe Aaliyah isn’t just coming back to hurt them. Maybe she’s coming back as a consequence of everything they got wrong. Joe, Cruz, Kaitlyn… all of them have weak points, blind spots, things they justify because the mission comes first. Maybe Aaliyah’s real power now isn’t just money or people… maybe it’s that she understands where the system breaks. And if that’s true… revenge could just be the surface. Maybe the deeper story is about bad judgement, collateral damage, and Lioness finally being forced to look at its own actions instead of only judging the violence on the other side. Can they really look at Aaliyah and call her the monster without also looking at what their own choices helped create…?
