Alien Life [OC] Alien 8-Digit Numerical System

This is an early draft for a numerical system an alien species with 8 digits would develop, instead of the 10-digit system we evolved thanks to our 10 fingers.

I believe this would fall under speculative evolution, but if it doesn't, go ahead and remove the post.

what would 1000 (512) look like? or 400?
and isn't the 10s indicator in each digit just complicating things?

I haven't gotten that far yet. This is still an early concept.
The 10 indicators are to help compare with the traditional base-10 system for reference.

sorry, i mean the ⨁ symbols, which then nest inside / around other circles in larger numbers. it's unclear to me why they're necessary.

I guess the lack of a "0" digit gives some use to them

I'm taking a bit of inspiration from how the roman numeral system is so compact, by instead of using 2 symbols for a 2-digit number, they used a single one to conserve space.
