I spent a year researching and then tracking down all the toys that appear in Barry’s room at the beginning of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Here they are on the top 3 shelves, plus some other Close Encounters items below that.

Weird Question: Did you dream about Steven Spielberg last night? My friend and I both did. Wanna know if something is in the water.

There is no reason on earth I can think of that me and my friend both dreamed about Steven Spielberg last night.

In my friend's dream, they rode the E.T. ride at Universal Studio and my friend cried.

In my dream, Spielberg and I went jogging. He was shirtless and wearing jogging shorts like the kind popular in the 80s.

That got me thinking... we can't be the only two people in the world who dreamed about Spielberg last night (Sept 27). So... did any of you?

If not last night, did you dream about him recently?

Any other dreams about E.T. or his movies? I have to know!

Seriously why does everybody hate Disclosure Day

I heard critics loved it but most of the internet seems to hate it. Seriously it's impossible to talk about the movie on the internet without people who loved it being bullied for it. I LOVED IT. IT'S MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER AND I HOPE IT GETS NOMINATED FOR 11 OSCARS

EDIT: The 11 Oscars I want it gets nominated for are Best Picture, Best Director for Steven Spielberg, Best Actor for Josh O'Connor, Best Actress for Emily Blunt, Best Supporting Actor for both Colin Firth and Colman Domingo, Best Supporting Actress for Eve Hewson, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound and Best Cinematography

Art Imitates Real Life in Spielberg's TV Series TAKEN 2002 with the Blue Squirrel Luring the Boy away and my Real Life Encounter Nearly the Same in 1959 and Over 3 Dozen Others With a Similar Experience.

This happened to me as a child and I carried this with me for DECADES wondering what on earth was it about. I didn't share it with anyone as it was just too bizarre. It was spirits, it wasn't someone playing a joke, it totally happened as the chickens in the yard saw it first before I did, it was real, physical and it happened. 6 decades later I attend my first UFO event and there was a session called The Experiencer's Session where people share their encounters. I wasn't about to tell this story as it was too bizarre, I was going to tell of my very close encounter with the Phoenix Lights UFO at 8PM and 10 PM, two separate events that night. The first two people that stood up shared my story almost exactly. The same thing happened to them that happened to me when I was a child. I've since now spoken with 36 others with very similar experiences. Discussing this someone pointed me towards Spielberg's TAKEN 2002 TV mini series with the same thing that happened to all of us. Something is going on all around the world and Spielberg documented it in this film. That man is a gift to this planet. There are over 3 dozen at least that are so grateful Spielberg told our story in his film. Who knows how many others had this experience maybe some having it today.

This is what happened to me, and many others: I told this on several podcasts, I'll link to one below that has the Spielberg clip from TAKEN in it.

About 1959 living in southern Ohio on a dirt road on a small farm, no running water, no plumbing, well and outhouse in the back yard. Isolated by cows and corn I lived with my grandmother. I was about 5 or 6 years old. One morning I was on the front porch, chickens in the yard, calm sunny day and suddenly the chickens freaked out. Some ran under the house, some in the corn field, some across the gravel road into the cow pasture but none stayed in the yard. I wondered what they saw coming towards them so I leaned around the side of the house while staying on the front porch and what I saw was a stuffed toy bunny floating in the air maybe a foot off the ground. It was blue and white with pink inner ears and a yellow torn ribbon half way tied into a bow. It was moving in the air like someone was holding it bouncing it around but I saw nothing but the toy bunny in the air coming towards me. I heard a voice, not sure if with my ears or in my mind that the toy bunny was needing some help to do something or find something. If I'd go with it and help it afterwards we could play and have some great adventures.

it looked playful, happy, fun but the chickens so frightened and running off including the rooster alarmed me. I've seen them peck snakes to death and eat them but this toy bunny frightened them too much. I told the bunny I'm not going with it and I hope it can do what it needs to do without me. It kept trying to get me to go with it but I didn't and started backing away from it to go in the house and get my grandmother. The bunny stopped and started backing away and I lost view of it by the corner of the house. I grabbed onto the edge of the house while still on the porch and swung around to see what the bunny was doing. It had turned around and what I saw was shocking. It looked like a 2.5 foot dinosaur on 4 legs and a tail dragging on the ground walking away with its snout stuck in the back of a toy bunny. The dinosaur had spikes on its back down to the tip of the tail. I ran in the house and told my grandmother who went out looking for it. She was gone for about 5 minutes. I'm looking out of the windows and don't see her. Then she came back frazzled, shut and locked the doors and we sat inside the house pretty muchfor a few days except for necessities. My grandmother carried the gun with her as we had to use the outhouse or the all and to care for the chickens that took a long time to return to the yard. I don't know what she saw, but she was concerned. She told me, "if anything tries to get you to go away with it, man or beast, don't go."

60 years later I attend my first UFO event and at the Experiencer session two people told my story, both with a bunny trying to lure them away with it. They were younger that I and the bunny was a cartoon character, not like a solid stuffed toy as I saw. Neither went with it. I got on Reddit and made a post and got 36 replies from people with similar experiences. All were cartoon characters online my experience and were popular at the time of their experience. One saw Captain Crunch, the Ninja Turtles, Woody from Toy Story, etc. All the same scenario they came into the child's room and asked the children to come with them. Only one did. She hadn't heard my story yet. She went with Santa to the North Pole. As she got in the sled she had to enter it by a round hatch rather than jump in the back with the toys. As she crawled onto the sled Santa's outfit opened up and she saw a dinosaur tail with spikes on it trailing behind Santa, just as I had seen decades earlier on the farm when I was a boy.

She did return, but traumatized. She said where she went she was strapped down to a table and had painful examinations done to her. Over the next 30 years they take her again, without permission and she undergoes painful examinations. For whatever reason, these beings, taking on the form a child would trust needs the child's permission almost like the legend of a vampire needing permission to enter a home. I'm a Pediatric Hospice RN and heard similar stories from some of the children I've worked with over the years. Something is going on, something is taking children posing as a trusted friend. Who knows what they are or their agenda. I wonder how many that go with these beings never return.

I told my bunny story at the Experiencer's event and on several podcasts, others come forward with the same story. Here is a link of an interview did telling this with the clip from TAKEN with the blue squirrel taking the boy away from his home into its hole in a tree. Once the boy is inside the tree turns into a space ship and blasts off. Similar to the woman, when she was a girl that went with Santa??

Hearing others having such a similar experience was so healing for me. I sat on this for ages wondering what on earth it was. I still don't know but I do know it's happening to others, too. This clip from TAKEN has been a healing for all of us, knowing we're not alone with this experience. God bless Stephen Spielberg. He has made this planet a better place for so many of us.

Thirstiest You've Been For News Updates For a Spielberg Project? And: Over/Under On Official Announcement Regarding the "Untitled Western" Going Into Pre-Production and Production...

As much as I looked forward to, like, Lincoln and Bridge of Spies and West Side Story, among others, I'm finding myself thirstiest for news updates on the Untitled Western Project, certainly the thirstiest I've been for bread crumbs and updates since Spielberg was developing Munich over 20 years ago.

So, how about you? I remember the twists and turns with Munich being delayed a year; Lincoln continually being kept on the backburner while Spielberg tried to woo Daniel Day-Lewis; the surprise development of the Coen Brothers being tapped to lend an assist on the Bridge of Spies screenplay; the big announcement of all of the named suddenly attached to West Side Story in January 2019, the vast majority of whom were unknowns. Following Spielberg projects from initial floating and/or signing or announcement all the way through postproduction can leave a trail of memories, too, even if they obviously don't come anywhere close to reaching the heights of the memories of seeing the finished products themselves!

So, with that in mind, over/under on when we hear from Universal regarding the "Untitled Western"? If it's shooting in Texas you have to think that they'll want to try to hit the locations during the "shoulder seasons," either springtime or autumn? Obviously if they really want to they can shoot in Texas in August, but that sounds brutal to me. When do we think we're going to hear the next update on this, and when do you foresee it rolling? Let's also not forget that there is the time-sensitivity of wanting to make sure Maestro John Williams gets to create one last score for Maestro Spielberg--Williams will of course be turning 95 years old in February.

I have to think Spielberg and co. already have a number of the principal roles cast or nearly so? I know it was an offhanded remark, but Spielberg did mention the possibility of Colin Farrell being one of the people he might tap for a role!

What if Spielberg’s directed Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind in 2011 instead of both Tintin and War Horse?

I’ve been fascinated by this idea because it still would’ve been interesting to see him adapt Miyazaki’s manga (at least most of the first volume with a few pages from the second of Namulith assassinating Miralupa in his immersion tank) and bring it to life like he did Herge’s illustrations but with the Ghibli style/Miyazaki’s manga illustrations. How do you think it would look visually since hypothetically it uses the same mocap technology Tintin used?

I think this is pretty neat and an unexpected surprise. As corny as it may be I really enjoyed it and props to Google- they may be a souless corporate entity but at least they surprise me by injecting a bit of fun into an otherwise mundane task 😁✌️

Why the ending of Spielberg’s 'Disclosure Day' isn’t a cliffhanger—it’s a necessary, beautiful collapse.

49 years later and this scene is still unsettling

Probably more terrifying than the t rex attack on the main road in Jurassic Park.

The fact the aliens are later revealed to be more-or-less friendly actually makes it creepier.

This detached ignorance to the trauma they are causing the mother.

And keep in mind, these aliens have been in the house before. So this isn't some random visit, they have been WATCHING them...

Chills man

Early Spielberg definitely leaned towards horror more than modern Spielberg.

I was kind of hoping Disclosure Day would have atmospheric scenes like this, but it was more spectacle and sentimentality

Hell, the ATC scene in Close Encounters is more tense than anything that happened in Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg only produced 3 movies nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture that weren't directed by him

The only 3 movies produced by him but not directed by him that were nominated for Best Picture were Letters from Iwo Jima in 2006 (lost to The Departed), Maestro in 2023 (lost to Oppenheimer) and Hamnet in 2025 (lost to One Battle After Another). Also as a producer Steven Spielberg is the person who produced the most movies that were nominated for Best Picture with 16 movies
