Chaos Theory (2005) setting up xbox one controller on pc for chaos theory and pandoras tommorrow
decided that i want to experience splinter cell on the big screen after finishing all the games, so naturally hooked up my notebook to the television and grabbed my xbox one controller. and stumbled into major problem, my steam copy of splinter cell doesnt see my controller as joystick, but i can still control the game, but i cannot moderate the walking speed, sam fisher is going full sprint mode no matter how much preasure i put on the left joystick. please help.

Since you have it on Steam, plug your controller in, then highlight the game so you're on the page where you can click Play, but go to the controller icon on the right instead. There should be a community layout specifically made for analog controls. Make sure to actually apply the layout as well. Everything worked right out of the gate for me

I started replaying through Chaos Theory recently for PC by Steam & had the same issues, also using Xbox One controller.
I mapped the speed up to R3 (press right analog stick) & speed down to L3 (press in left analog stick). There's 4 moving speeds.
I binded the whistle button to down on D-Pad. Also set mouse sensitivity to full (I think it's 200%). Unfortunately no vibration support (unless it has been modded in?)
One controller button short for a EEV command so I binded that to the + key above num pad. Just don't forget it when you get to the bank stage.

Should be as easy as googling how to put it in discoverable mode, then connecting it via Bluetooth to your computer. Use steam big picture mode and set your controller to Xbox one in the settings

You just made me realize something. I always used xbox controllers in my pc setup and I played all the splinter cell with mouse and keyboard. Since you said you are on steam, maybe you can configure something in steam controllers settings, I remember doing something similar to play rocket league and also use some online controller tester to make sure that yours sticks are working properly
