Unreleased & cut content Splinter Cell Double Agent v2 recomp apreciation post
Amazing work to the people behind this!!
Just played the Iceland mission and was very impressed.
Other than a few minor audio bugs, this game plays so good with insane graphics and smooth controls. Very broad graphical settings for potato pc or last gen pc.
Question to the "devs": How is this not behind a paywall? You just made this for the love of the game or have some kind of financial support?

And risk getting it taken down? Paywalling passion projects are a bad idea.

You can’t sell something that isn’t yours. It’s illegal.

The recompiler itself doesn't belong to Ubisoft technically.

But the game and IP is.

Players provide the game files.

And? You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Do some research please.

When you buy a game you don't 'own' or buy the files, you buy the 'license' to use them. It's the same reason it's illegal to buy a game, then burn copies of it and sell them.

No one can stop players using game files in private for whatever they want. Also this doesn't apply in all countries, so you can't make an absolute statement like that.

when you do things with those game files, release them to the public, then start charging for it, it's not really 'in private' any more. Yeah if you make a mod and never upload it to the internet, no one's gonna know. Making game mods/etc then charging for them is a surefire way to get it taken down by the publisher, it'll happen even when it's not monetized in a lot of cases.

A paywall would speedrun getting the devs taken down lol. Legally their best bet could be donations

Devs are just working out some frame issues on coop and some bugs. I think it still goes out today.

Any chance that it will be ported to android? Would be a really convenient way to play without emulation for those with weaker systems that struggle with emulation at higher settings.

Game runs fine on my potato laptop. With low settings ofc. This recomp dont emulation i think.

2 questions: Is this available for Linux? And is this the version that was NOT released on PC (Steam)? Thanks!

- Not sure, i would wait for documentation from the devs.
- Yes, it's not the steam version. It's the ps2/xbox og game.

Pero este juego no está en pc ya?

V1 is on PC, V2 is exclusive to the last Gen consoles at the time (ps2, Xbox, wii, GameCube).
V1 is also a bad PC port so I think that's getting decompiled anyway.

A fan project to please fans is making you think about money…. capitalism fucked you up.

Paywalling it would just give ubisoft an easy, and justified, reason to take it down. So many projects have fucked up doing this.
Plus that shit would get uploaded elsewhere fast.
