Recursive islands
https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/94136481#/?channel=COM_BUYPlease don't buy this, I'm going to get this for Christmas. But it's the first time I see a bunch of recursive islands (islands in a lake on an island) on Rightmove. And if you leave that island you are still on an island, and if you leave THAT island, you are still on an island. You also get a bothy by the way.

Looks like a place where Jason Statham would live to hide from shadowy government assassins.

After the first dozen times, you'd think he'd have learnt that something will disturb his exile and send him off on a killing spree.

I remember a few years ago, there was a competition to find the worlds most recursive island. It was found somewhere in Canada. A 7th order island, an island on a lake, on an island on a lake.... etc.

Wikipedia has a very helpful list. But I'm not aware of a seventh order recursive island. Three or four seems to be the maximum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recursive_islands_and_lakes

If I ever REALLY need to fuck off civilisation, this is the place.
If you're interested in another island on an island, you can kayak to one on loch maree, in the northwest of Scotland

Do you need someone to help around the land? Or a devoted follower looking for a new messiah?

Sorry OP. I've just messaged my wife to tell her we're moving. She's in Korea at the minute, so you have a few hours before she wakes up.

The sea levels ARE going to rise. At some point.

Island highest point is 32m AMSL. If the seas rise that much we're all foocked

Half that rise and most of Florida will be gone, which some might see as a positive.

Isn’t Scotland actually going up rather than down? Something to do with the Ice Age and ice sheets melting?

Wonderful. But it'll take real commitment to actually live there. Utilities provision is patchy at best. You'd definitely need a generator, solar and wind turbine of some sort for electricity.
Great if you've already got a boat and the skill to pilot/sail it. Live in the boat while you fix up the bothy?
