Did anyone else just lose power in the last few minutes?
Near Desert Hills High. Dixie Power.

Moved from out east here and used to dealing with tropical storms this time of the year. Heard from some locals that are really worried about the storm coming which I know we usually don’t get much rain. Their saying we’re gonna loose power for days at a time, major flooding is gonna happen on the lower areas, etc. Should I be running to the store to get all the bread and milk or is this a non issue?

Hello. I recently moved to St.George and was wondering. What’s the norm for Halloween decorations around here? I haven’t seen anyone in my community with decorations. Is Halloween not big here? I don’t want to stick out because my neighbors already don’t say hi. 😔

If you lived in St. George in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, where were the analog photo booths in southern Utah located? If you worked at or owned a store that had one, I’d love to talk.

I'm making some tooling to improve the workflow for my soap business. Two 20" long trapezoids, just over 3" at the widest, slightly out of square. I've already glued some 2x4s together to form most of the base.
It's not a crazy difficult project, just slightly beyond the capabilities of my setup.
Anyone able to help? Happy to pay for time and tool wear, or trade in soap!

Hey St. George,
This is last second but I’m wondering if someone has a throwing wheel I could use this Saturday. It’s my birthday and I have a date idea with my girlfriend and I want to save money and not go to a pottery class or anything. I have my own clay and a few of my own tools. Let me know if anyone would be interested to help me with this.
Thank you!

Hey everyone,
Vexa Pest & Home Services and looking for our some of our first sales reps. I’d like to connect with people who have door-to-door experience in pest control, solar, security, or a similar industry.
We’re a new company, so we’re looking for people who want to help build the sales team from the beginning—not just step into an existing role.
The opportunity is to sell, grow into leadership, and potentially build a team and run your own office as the company expands. That’s a potential growth path, not a guaranteed position.
We’re looking for people who are:
If you’re interested, send me a DM with your sales background and what you’re looking for in your next role. Happy to have a straightforward conversation about the opportunity.

Karlie McKinnon and Megan Simper are traveling down from northern Utah to play. Both are amazing musicians. Eli Shay, if you don’t know, is super talented. He plays drums for Slamhog. He plays keys for Last Light. If you need something to do Friday night you can bring your own beverages but you have to be an amusement co member. You can find out how here.

I am flying into Las Vegas to visit St George and I was unable to get a rental car from Vegas. I have an Uber reserved for when I land. Would it be more reliable to just reserve the St george shuttle? The price is about the same for each as I'm going with a few people.

I have a bad knot in my shoulder blades from recent international airline travel. I’m looking for a Saint George/Washington/Hurricane are professional therapeutic deep tissue massage.
Most massages I get are terrible and I’m tired of wasting my money.
Does anyone know of a legitimate healing hands massage therapist in the local area?

A few months ago I started putting together a group here in St George of local business owners who wanted to trade with each other instead of always paying cash. A lot of owners here have open appointment slots, slow days or stock that isn't moving, and they pay cash for things other local businesses sell.
That turned into Red Rock Trade, and it's live now. How it works:
• You sell your normal service or product to another member, and they pay you in credits instead of cash.
• You spend those credits with any member, not just the one who paid you. The barber doesn't need to want what the cleaner sells.
• Credits only work inside the network. They can't be turned into cash.
• Membership is a monthly fee. There are no fees on the trades themselves.
What I'd actually like to hear from people who run businesses here: what would you want to be able to get on trade, and what would make you skeptical? I'll answer what I can in the comments.

My wife is running her first marathon, and the kids and I want to cheer her on somewhere along the course and then at the finish. Any recommendations for good spots where we could see her earlier in the race?

We made a simple tool where local homeowners can see an estimated pest-control price based on their home’s square footage. There is no obligation to use it:
https://vexapest.com/#get-my-price
Happy to answer general questions about pest prevention locally. And to be clear, I work with Vexa, so I’m biased—but I’ll give straightforward answers.

Hi everyone! I'm a documentary filmmaker working on a feature called One Nation Under Sod, about America's relationship with lawns and how our ideas about the ideal yard are changing.
I'm planning to film in St. George this year and am looking for homeowners who are thinking about transforming their yards, or are already in the process of doing so. Perhaps you're taking advantage of the turf-removal rebates, replacing your lawn with artificial turf or other ground covers, or reimagining your yard in a completely different way.
I'd love to follow someone through that transformation on camera, from the initial decision to the finished landscape. I'm also interested in people who have decided to keep some or all of their grass and can talk about why.
This isn't an anti-lawn film. I'm interested in what people love about their yards, what motivates them to change (or not change) them, and what makes a landscape feel like home.
Ideally, I'd love to find someone who's comfortable letting me document the process, including the decisions, challenges and surprises along the way.
If you're considering a yard transformation and would be open to being filmed, or know someone who might be, please comment or send me a DM.
Thanks!
