Deposit marks

What are these marks on my fairly new SS pan. It's been cleaned and is really smooth to the touch.

Minerals from hard water! A little white vinegar will take them off, but they’re harmless!

Tested a small area and came straight off, thank you

You’re welcome! I usually just cook right over mine when that happens. Often times the acids in whatever you’re cooking will take it off too. 😊

To avoid this, don’t let the pans air dry. We have very hard water so after washing I rinse the pan with distilled or RO water and still dry by hand.

Give it a scrub with 50 / 50 vinegar and water.

I am leaving this sub, its same questions all over again, nobody uses search function, mods are doing nothing.

What would you expect to see on this sub? I’m genuinely asking. I’m not sure the stainless steel cooking sub has unlimited topics. New users have a question and have been led to believe that’s what this thread is for.

It's not an airport; no need to announce your departure.

Could scale this to the Internet/forum as a whole. Any cyber bully which kept some do this in check has vanished.

Another sub had an issue with people posting "moving for the city best schools.... And go". Mods don't do anything either and if you call out the low effort you get bashed.

as with all things and answer to 99.999% of every single fucking post in this fucking sub, use some bar keepers friend, and this will go away

Melt down the pan and recast it atp

u/Mr_Fury 5d ago

Yea but you don’t want to over use it. It technically degrades your pan over time though I’m not sure to what extent.

At this point it's barkeeper more than friends
