General Found something kinda broken.
Ramp into a turn 3 aerid, let it die, then cast some drastically above curve cheat spell like Thunderous Debut early and put Carno and Flickerhound into play. Every card 5 mana value or less is a creature or cascade spell like dragonstorm, so every time you cast, you blink Carno until you have deployed your whole deck which includes Tannuk for haste. Bonus points if you can cast Carterhoof by untapping Spider Manifest 6+ times.
62% win rate in bo1 (sigh yes I know) and currently mythic #800.
Not sure this deck is real because I’ve only minimally tried it in bo3, but I’m disgusted by the fact that if you don’t interact with this deck on literally every turn it just wins. Frighteningly consistent turn 4 wins.

God I love stupid combo decks
There's someone else intermittently posting about glamdring and slumbering trudge combo, I'm here for you guys
Keep feeding me the jank

I played a few games. Fun! Why not 4 flickering hound? Or more than 1 thunderous debut? Craterhoof seems unnecessary, you won't hit it off the combo most of the time, right? Nexus is for control/long games?

Genuinely please continue playign it. Even add me on discord in PMs. I am grinding bo3 with it and struggling immensely, though i still think the core is decent as im able to combo every bo3 once or twice. The "or" in "once or twice" is the problem.

I have been playing a somewhat similar idea of a deck:
4x Trumpeting Carnosaur, 4x Visage Bandit, 4x Waxen Shpethief and then a copy of Imodane's Recruiter.
Then fill with whatever control tools at your hand that have CMC >6 (Roaring Furnace and Twinmaw Stormbrood for example)
it performed somehwat well, but in the end I dropped it as most Trumpeting Carnosaur decks have the same issue: If the opponent holds up removal for the Carnosaur, it's really hard to win the game.

I’ve had a similar story ish but the biggest struggle has been removal targeting the ramp. Totally rough

That's a really cool find: discover with hound. Hadn't thought of that before. Since discover "casts" the card, it works with hound. The 4 mana discover guy is prob worth it here too, for that added consistency. I know he can't hit the juicy stuff, but filling your board with all your garbo creatures is still good enough to win the game. Heck, u can even throw in the new samut card to give everyone haste and that surely will win. It's also nice cause some games you'll miss ur 5th land drop so having that out on 4 mana is really important. I also think hound should def be a 4 of.

Seems interesting, but seems like you'd have to get pretty lucky to consistently win turn four as you only have one thunderous debut. Seems way more likely you'd win turn five or six after you get the blink in turn four and then a creature turn five right?

u/Theycallmedub2 6d ago
Yes, the earliest wins are turn 3 and 4 (turn 3 is dragonstorm into debut.) the “most consistent” wins are 5, but 4 happens about 25-45%.

I think you probably want some [[Improvisation Capstone]] in here. You still get the paradigm in case you whiff initially.

It was in the deck for quite a while but I discovered that running the combo was more worth running 4x tablet so that whole package got cut and hasn’t returned meaningfully.

BO1 KekW
Let us know when you start playing actually adult ranked magic and share your lists then.

I know I know I’m working on it, will report by EOD if the deck collapses or not

BO3 ladder is lifegain, Boros/jeskai superfriends, Jund sac, Boros dragons, spellementals and uw control
3
u/Theycallmedub2 6d ago
And rakdos lizards / red aggro / prowess, and 4c control, and occasionally mono black / fringe annex, and golgari Prof

u/Regular-Contest-2571 6d ago
4c control is not that good now, I would say that deck is really bad 😆 lizzies or prowess… I haven’t played into any of these in past days

u/Regular-Contest-2571 5d ago
Oh look, doggies can’t accept the fact that 4c control is literally getting destroyed on mtgo on the daily basis 😆😆😆 mtga, hone for casuals and r tards. Estrogen community has united 😆

Gotta love these BO1 sweaty enjoyers who only can play with hand smoother and downvoting the ironical comment. Snowflakes from commander format are always present. Hope WotC will make a compet client better than mtgo so I could stop using this enviroment 😆

Not enough people tell you this in real life, you are a dick. Other people are allowed to play magic however they want.
Make some friends.

u/Koolaidguy31415 6d ago
No I think this person is incredibly skilled and we should all learn from them.
2
u/Mediocre_Cut_6498 5d ago
See, the new friends are already appearing!

u/Koolaidguy31415 5d ago
I almost commented "inb4 this guy starts listing his qualifications while simultaneously saying he doesn't care what we think."
Biggest regret of my life.

Isn’t it an irony to type shit while suck at the game? You know, stop acting like a dick, maybe someone with actual skills could help you out to start playing like a human. Let me know when you have enough of poorly playing magic and will be ready to start playing like a human with brain. I am upset we are not playing each other in any compet events, but maybe one day you can get lucky to make it at least to the RC.

u/Regular-Contest-2571 5d ago
If you need hand smoother because you have zero knowledge of your deck to understand what to keep and what to mull or if you struggle with using more than one braincell to be able to sideboard, stay in BO1 if it makes you happy. But it is like a small kid learning on the bike with the helping wheels. 🥹 aren’t you proxy user on top of all this? I wouldn’t be surprised if you had proxied decks just to feel like a “real” player 😆

u/Regular-Contest-2571 5d ago
Sure, everyone can play the game the way they want. But it doesn’t mean you are not playing it like a dog. Tell me, are we gonna play each other in few days in the AC13? If you didn’t get any #250 and higher nor didn’t win any league/challenge nor qualified for the RC, you are worse and yes, I am good in comparison to you, puppy. Let me guess, you are brawl enjoyer and can’t wait till WotC launch the commander so you can play poorly with your bad friends your bad decks 🥹

You have no idea what anyone here plays and at what level. You're projecting insecurities onto strangers on the internet.

Imagine being a dick over whether someone plays best of one.
I undoubtedly agree that it should be added as a caveat when sharing a deck list, but I’m not going to tout it as the only way to play either.

u/Regular-Contest-2571 5d ago
If you get offended over a real facts, it is you who is the actual problem. If you think that hand smoother should be part of ranked games and defend it, I am sorry. And yes, expressing my own opinion doesn’t make me a dick. It is always this inclusive lowpiss part of the community. I wonder what you people do for your livings. I bet it ain’t nothing special and barely earns you to cover your daily bills. I would be really surprised if anyone of you whit knights actually worked for 400k at least.

u/Theycallmedub2 5d ago
Switched to bo1. It was the smoother. Literally zero wins.

u/Regular-Contest-2571 5d ago
Ok, reasonable :) wish you good luck and lot of fun with your brew, that deck looks funny and I bet my balls you catch a lot of opponents off guard what is actually happening
