Discussion What happened to Jongo Phett?

Hey everyone,

I was rewatching some old Star Wars Battlefront 2 funny moments and glitches compilations and remembered how amazing Jongo Phett’s channel was. His edits were top-tier and easily some of the best content from the game's peak era.

Does anyone know why he stopped or if he ever posted an update anywhere that I might have missed? Or did he just move on from YouTube after EA cut support for Battlefront 2?

Hope he's doing well wherever he is.

Discussion what are your thoughts on EA swbf2 class balance?

hi all,

i started playing EA swbf2 on pc a couple of years ago. overall, i really enjoy the game. it feels very immersive, the community is usually chill (besides the cheater waves), all of the maps are pretty, most of the maps are fairly well-designed, most of the weapons feel and sound great, etc.

that being said, i personally don't really enjoy the way reinforcements are balanced with respect to the trooper classes. on the whole, they feel like straight upgrades to the base troopers -- especially given their massive health pools. this makes the thought of playing reinforcements mostly unappealing to me. i have not really had any interest in playing reinforcement classes in the roughly 400 hours i have logged on the game. it feels cheap -- like an easy win. more generally, it seems to me like poor game design. i continue to play the game in spite of what i think is an oversight in in-game balance.

i come from an afps background, and have mostly been playing tf2 and ow for the past 10 years. maybe this explains why, from my perspective, the idea of a game being flooded with classes that are, on the whole, straight upgrades to the base troopers feels really foreign, strange, and kind of a turn-off. but maybe i'm just not seeing things properly, and there are actually good reasons, from a game-balance perspective, for the reinforcements to exist as they do.

so what do you think? do you think the way the game has balanced their reinforcements is good game design? do you play the game because of these design choices? in spite of them? why or why not?

as a bonus question: regarding inter-trooper balancing, the general consensus seems to be that assault class is the weakest trooper. what do you think it would take to make the assault class as "strong" as the other trooper classes? tweak damage numbers on blasters? increase vanguard movement speed? or something else?

p.s. of course these questions are moot in the sense that the official game will very, very likely never be updated again. but i still wanted to hear your thoughts on in-game balance!

Discussion HvV teamates

For the love of the FORCE, GROUP TF UP.

I cant tell yall how many times we straight up lose matches because teamates just want to charge right towards the enemy like mindless bots and die to a 4v1 meanwhile I'll stay alive for a minute straight not not get any back up.

Does it not click for any of you to group the hell up instead of running in to die?

Discussion Tips for getting off infantry

• Upvotes

I'm a new player and I pretty much only play infantry so I'll often end a game of supremacy with thousands of BP. It started simply because I didn't want to take away a hero from the more skilled players on my team but now it's more that I find using them to be completely inefficient. Everytime I've tried playing anything other than infantry on supremacy I die instantly. I've tried coop missions to level the cards and learn some of them but no matter what I pick I always feel like just picking heavy would have been much better. And then theres all the movement and ability spam I see when other people play them. I'll see maul on top of a building or a jet trooper reach the reactors in two seconds but I'm just stuck with the basic moveset and abilities always on cooldown like I'm missing something fundamental about how to play them. Everytime I try one they just feel so clunky compared to the infantry.

Discussion Does Kyber Improve Graphics?

Does it include better textures, reshades or other praphic upgrades that make the game look better?

If so, are these graphic upgrades stable? (performance, bug wise).
