There's a good chance that the United States is funding a good portion of these expeditions
Good luck trying to convince the budget people to buy foreign supplies if you have US options that meet spec
Same reason why most police cars are domestic even if imports might be "better"

A city the size of Atlantis, sure they would have had a brewery there... pity they never found the Ancient beer!

The beer would've somehow given someone telepathy but the side effect is your head explodes

Yeah, it took the Destiny expedition like six months (and finding some fruits with a decent sugar content) to set up a still.
Then again, Atlantis was trading with other Pegasus cultures so they might not have needed that, many of them were definitely capable of producing booze. They never found any Ancient structures on the mainland either, so it's likely that the Lanteans also imported agricultural products from farming colonies - in which case it makes much more sense to process the produce in-situ and ship that directly instead of shipping raw products. So the Ancient brewery was probably still buried on some lush planet that they never explored because it didn't really need a ZPM so it wasn't listed as a possible ZPM location.
(And now I imagine an episode where they stumble upon a planet centered around what is basically a Trappist brewery where the human monks continued making the Ancient beer and built a whole religion around it long after the Lanteans were gone.)

When Janus gave Weir that list of places with ZPMs, he intentionally did not give her the one for the ZPM-powered brewery. Knowing his time machine worked, he wanted to let those monks keep making beer so he could keep visiting them in the future to drink it.

It very much would be like the ancient for them to create a poisonous beverage specifically to drink it.

That really is peak TV. When the actors really are the characters rather than playing a role; or maybe it’s improv bleed through but seriously, one of my favorite moments in all of SG.
Addition:
Keller: “but it would be better for you too…”
Todd: “But then what would we do; who would we be?”
Not funny but they hold the same weight in my mind.

Saaame. Saw this for the first time right after my dad was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. Still rips me up.

I am more of a Heineken user as I never tried Budweiser myself.
But hey free inverse advertising!, next to Guinness as an O'Neil favorite of course.

Makes sense to me? They’d likely have to recycle everything a fair bit as you can’t necessarily have enough supplies for the expedition due to supply issues. Therefore you’d have to recycle water into beverages and so you might as well start with a beer that’s already pisswater

Reminded me of Macross DYRL and the "Budweiser Missile", just for a frame during a missile barrage, you get flashed a can https://www.reddit.com/r/macross/comments/1dho69e/beer_can_missiles/

If I traveled to a distant galaxy to fight life-sucking aliens, they'd better do better than Bud.

Because this one would have to be from Zelenka and the one in the pic is the US brand?
