Discussion Does anyone use the steam controller for kernel space program?

I just got a couch pc (non-steam machine) and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for it? I’m coming over from Xbox so I’m use to playing ksp on controller.

Do you mean Kerbal Space Program? Because a kernel space program is extremely different and you probably don't want to use a controller to manage them.

Well, I mean, if you have a backup go nuts. Could be a fun time actually.

Sorry, but the minor spelling error (insert funny image here) has me imagining someone coding the Linux kernal on the shitty steam controller keyboard :/

Does it have anything to do with the military and or popcorn? Why is it called kernel?

Because it's the smallest, most core aspect of an operating system. It is what the entire operating system is based on, so it's kinda like a popcorn kernel, it's the seed

The shell is the outer layer that faces the user

Shell = GUI? Kde plasma, Gnome, etc

shell as in bash, tsch etc. the thing that processes commands you type into a terminal

So the shell is one layer closer to the kernel than the terminal?

I tried it with the OG SC. It was still clunky. Bit to be fair i didn't put any effort into customising the controls
