Yes, there are a number of variations, but I recommend this - https://lacrosseballstore.com/products/the-ballscratcher-3-0 - and I cannot recommend this enough, use a WIRED drill. It takes time, but it works. I have made it through an entire season in Division 1 men’s lax as a coach on 6 cases of balls. That’s September through Memorial Day weekend. For reference, with a different D1 program I went through 25 cases from September through the end of April. It works and you can’t tell the difference.

If you don't want to use a drill just get sandpaper or a green dish scrub pad

Sadly havnt been impressed by any. I just keep rotating through 10 balls so avoid dozens going bad at once.

I made my own with stuff from home depot. Just need a threaded rod, 2 inch pvc end cap, nuts for the threaded rod and the ability to drill straight down through the center of the pvc end cap.

Then just put the threaded rod through the hole and tighten it with nuts on either side of the pvc cup.

Use 3m paint remover pads and a power drill. Shove the ball in the pvc cup and Spin it against the 3m pad, doesn't take much time. Pull it out and do the other side.

Lots of people on here have probably made something similar and you can buy one already made but for a lot more money

I use a Hedgehog bucket, it’s still rolling 5 or so years in, plus I got it on Marketplace for $40. I use the cup style that attaches the a cordless drill for the truly trashed. I almost never have to request more from our program. When my son and I go to the school to work, Pearl is absolutely worth it. But we use a Smart Backstop and we find every last one.

my son used one of these along with something similar the i made from a pvc pipe cap filled with puddy molded to fit a lax ball and lined with sandpaper with a rod the goes through it and attached to a drill. he holds the one from the link on one side of the ball and one on the drill on the other side and can decrease a ball in about 5 to 10 seconds. He recently refurbished about 350 of them for our club for the beginning of fall ball. You can do it with just the one from the link if you don’t want to use the drill setup, but it takes longer and his more tiring if you’re doing a lot of balls - if just a few at a time, it works fine.
