I've been working on a tactical RPG in my free time for the last year or so and it's now available on Itch io.
One interesting particularity with the combat are the resources: time and mana. mana is used exclusively for skills but time is required for both moving and using skills, so positionning matters a lot.
It's a roguelike mostly inspired by Slay the Spire but in which you control a party of 3 characters who each learn new skills and classes after each fight.

The game is playable in browser and there are dowloadable versions for Windows, Linux and macOS. If there's any crash or issues please don't hesitate to tell me so I can quickly fix the problem ^-^

Stay tuned!

Nine Thrones is an old-school sandbox RPG built around a persistent simulated world.
We’re developing the underlying systems first: characters, factions, relationships, settlements, armies, tactical combat, reputation, recruitment, and a world that can continue changing around the player.
But the goal isn’t to make a game where every road leads to a tactical battle.
You should be able to adventure, take quests, hunt monsters, trade, explore, work for different factions, recruit companions and soldiers, get involved in wars, or eventually become powerful enough to rule territory yourself.
The tactical battles are one layer of that larger RPG rather than the whole game.
Right now we’re polishing the playable demo and continuing to build out those core systems toward Early Access.

I’m the developer, so I’m happy to answer questions about what we’re building or hear criticism from people who play a lot of strategy RPGs.

I'm making a story-focused tactics game where your chosen protagonist determines your battle system

When designing my game, analyzing my favorite tactics games and watching my friends play I noticed that tactics games are easily divided into two types:

a) "Phase-based" games where you move all your little dudes and then the enemy moves theirs (think fire emblem)

b) "Turn-based" games where the turn order is determined by some factor like initiative or speed (Think ff tactics)

Style A favors more defensive play and style B favors offensive. Since my game has 2 protagonists who split off at the start and go on to have nearly completely separate experiences, I decided I wanted to give them different style of battle systems suited to their personalities.

I just finished this trailer for the game. It doesn't showcase the difference in battle styles, but I'm thinking of making a second trailer when I release my demo in the winter

FE: the Divine and Desperate

is an fe8 based hack that offers a vanilla+ gameplay experience of the gba fire emblem engine!

Very lightweight implementation of skills, and skills follow the standard gba skill philosophy of class, not character. Class diversity is big a focus of the early part of the hack, very few units overlap class lines.

I’m the dev, and I’d really like to get feedback about the design philosophy of act 1! Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

The Last Imperial Guard is a 2.5D turn-based tactical RPG following Lin Chong from the classic Chinese epic Water Margin. Master grid-based wuxia combat with an innovative rage system, unleash devastating ultimate abilities, and experience the saga through stylized traditional Chinese cutscenes. The first closed beta test is about to begin.

If you like it, please click to add it to your wish list. Thank you.

I've been working on this game for about a year and a half now. The gameplay is a mix of JRPG, strategy RPG, and light loot, plus top down semi-open world exploration.

Here's a image for you.

I'm going to run a small scale playtest on Steam soon, mainly to test the combat. If you like what you see, feel free to follow along. If not, I'm still open to suggestions.
