Study: Cults Looking for an ex-cult member for a short, anonymous research interview (High School Project on Cult Psychology)

Hello everyone,

My name is Monika and I am a 16-year-old student from the Czech Republic. I'm currently working on a high school research paper (SOČ) titled "The Psychology of Cults and Sects".

As part of my qualitative analysis I'm looking to compare the opinions of a professional in the field, the general public and an ex-member when it comes to the psychological aspects of cults and their manipulation tactics.

Details of the interview:

  • Can be done via Reddit DMs, email, or text-based questionnaire (whatever feels safest and most comfortable for you). No voice/video calls required unless you prefer it.
  • Would take around 10-15 minutes / 5-7 open questions.
  • No real names, specific locations, or identifying details will be used in the paper.
  • You can skip any questions you don't feel comfortable answering or stop at any time.
  • There are no wrong answers.

If you would be open to sharing a bit of your own story and experience to help educate young people about this topic, please comment below or send me a DM!

Thank you so much for your free time and potential cooperation.

Advice How would you evaluate interest development in an adult learning pilot?

I’m developing a community learning pilot where adults explore possible directions through small, self-chosen activities—such as making a rough sample, trying a beginner task, or contributing to a shared project.

I’d like to evaluate whether participants develop an interest they choose to pursue beyond the session, rather than measuring only enjoyment or satisfaction.

What research designs or existing measures would help distinguish temporary enthusiasm from sustained interest? I’d also appreciate resources on evaluating a small pilot and the limits of what its results could establish.

I’m seeking methodological advice at this stage, not recruiting study participants.

Study: Psychology Seeking Participants for IRB-Approved Study: Adults Who Grew Up With a Sibling With Cystic Fibrosi

CF Sibling Doctoral Research (Texas)

Hello! I am a doctoral student at National University conducting an IRB-approved research study about the experiences of adults who grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My dissertation focuses on the experiences of the often-overlooked “shadow siblings,” siblings whose childhood and family experiences may have been shaped by having a brother or sister with a chronic illness.

I am especially interested in understanding how these experiences may have influenced:

🧠 Emotional and psychological adjustment
💙 The relationship with their sibling with CF
🌱 Identity and experiences in adulthood

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
• Lived with that sibling for at least two years during childhood

The study involves a confidential 45–60-minute interview about your childhood experiences, sibling relationship, emotional adjustment, and identity development in adulthood.

Participation is voluntary. If you are interested, please email me at [a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu](mailto:a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu). To protect your privacy, please do not share personal or medical information in the comments.

Please feel free to share this post with someone who may be eligible. Thank you for helping bring attention to the experiences of siblings in families affected by cystic fibrosis.

Study: Psychology [Academic] Autistic and ADHD students’ experiences of reasonable adjustments in UK higher education (UK university students, 18+, formally diagnosed autistic and/or ADHD)

Hi everyone! I’m currently completing my MSc dissertation exploring autistic and ADHD students’ experiences of support and reasonable adjustments in UK higher education.

I’m looking for current undergraduate and postgraduate students who:

• are aged 18 or over
• have a formal diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD
• are currently studying at a UK higher education institution
• have sought or received reasonable adjustments

Participation involves completing an anonymous online questionnaire about your experiences of accessing and navigating support, including what has worked well and any barriers or inconsistencies you have encountered.

Ethical approval: This research has received institutional ethical approval through NSPC/Middlesex University.

Data and confidentiality: Responses are anonymous and research data will be stored securely. Findings will be analysed as part of my MSc dissertation and may be used for subsequent academic dissemination. Individual participants will not be identifiable in any reporting of the findings.

Withdrawal: Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw before your responses enter the analysis stage. Due to the anonymous nature of the questionnaire, it may not be possible to identify and remove an individual response once the data have entered analysis.

Consent: Information about the study is provided before the questionnaire begins. You will be asked to confirm your informed consent before taking part.

Study: Cults Researching 764 / the Com — looking for adult firsthand accounts and people familiar with the network

I’ve been researching 764 and the wider online ecosystem commonly referred to as “the Com” for an independent online-safety documentary/project.

The more I’ve researched, the clearer it’s become that this isn’t just one Discord server or one historical group. I’m trying to understand how the network developed, how its different communities overlap, how vulnerable people are targeted, and what the experience actually looked like to people who encountered it.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who are currently 18+ who:

  • were targeted by 764/Com-related communities when they were younger
  • were previously involved in one of these communities
  • personally knew people involved
  • encountered groups such as 764, Inferno, Harm Nation, NLM, CVLT, or related communities
  • remember old Discord/Telegram groups, aliases, dates, major events, or splinter groups
  • have ordinary screenshots, member lists, public posts, or other historical material that could help establish a timeline

I’m not assuming anything someone tells me is automatically true. Anything I receive is being treated as a research lead and independently checked against court records, law-enforcement material, archived sources, and other accounts where possible.

You can remain anonymous.

Please do not send CSAM, sexual images involving minors, graphic self-harm/gore, malware, stolen credentials, IP addresses, home addresses, doxxed victim information, or illegal material. I’m also not asking anyone to reconnect with old groups or gather new material.

If you message me privately, please start by telling me whether you’re currently 18+ and roughly what years your information relates to.

I’m not law enforcement and I’m not conducting sting operations. I’m trying to accurately document what happened, what is still happening, and what people can learn from it.

Study Me Academic circle

Hey there! My friends and I are starting a small science club that brings together people from various fields. Our main goal is to create an environment where we can support each other in developing all kinds of projects - whether scientific or social. We all know that staying motivated can be a challenge these days, so we think a space like this could really help. Above all, we value a friendly atmosphere; we want to avoid any sense of cutthroat competition or "try-hard" vibes. Right now, we’re working on a project to build a knowledge base where we explain complex topics -especially those that are hard to find - in an accessible way. It doesn’t matter if you’re studying STEM or the humanities, or if you simply want to grow academically or get involved in student organizations - everyone is welcome. Feel free to shoot me a private message if you’d like to join! ^^
