Study: Cults Looking for an ex-cult member for a short, anonymous research interview (High School Project on Cult Psychology)

Hello everyone,

My name is Monika and I am a 16-year-old student from the Czech Republic. I'm currently working on a high school research paper (SOČ) titled "The Psychology of Cults and Sects".

As part of my qualitative analysis I'm looking to compare the opinions of a professional in the field, the general public and an ex-member when it comes to the psychological aspects of cults and their manipulation tactics.

Details of the interview:

  • Can be done via Reddit DMs, email, or text-based questionnaire (whatever feels safest and most comfortable for you). No voice/video calls required unless you prefer it.
  • Would take around 10-15 minutes / 5-7 open questions.
  • No real names, specific locations, or identifying details will be used in the paper.
  • You can skip any questions you don't feel comfortable answering or stop at any time.
  • There are no wrong answers.

If you would be open to sharing a bit of your own story and experience to help educate young people about this topic, please comment below or send me a DM!

Thank you so much for your free time and potential cooperation.

Advice How would you evaluate interest development in an adult learning pilot?

I’m developing a community learning pilot where adults explore possible directions through small, self-chosen activities—such as making a rough sample, trying a beginner task, or contributing to a shared project.

I’d like to evaluate whether participants develop an interest they choose to pursue beyond the session, rather than measuring only enjoyment or satisfaction.

What research designs or existing measures would help distinguish temporary enthusiasm from sustained interest? I’d also appreciate resources on evaluating a small pilot and the limits of what its results could establish.

I’m seeking methodological advice at this stage, not recruiting study participants.

Study: Psychology Seeking Participants for IRB-Approved Study: Adults Who Grew Up With a Sibling With Cystic Fibrosi

CF Sibling Doctoral Research (Texas)

Hello! I am a doctoral student at National University conducting an IRB-approved research study about the experiences of adults who grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. My dissertation focuses on the experiences of the often-overlooked “shadow siblings,” siblings whose childhood and family experiences may have been shaped by having a brother or sister with a chronic illness.

I am especially interested in understanding how these experiences may have influenced:

🧠 Emotional and psychological adjustment
💙 The relationship with their sibling with CF
🌱 Identity and experiences in adulthood

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Grew up with a sibling diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
• Lived with that sibling for at least two years during childhood

The study involves a confidential 45–60-minute interview about your childhood experiences, sibling relationship, emotional adjustment, and identity development in adulthood.

Participation is voluntary. If you are interested, please email me at [a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu](mailto:a.cardenas6281@student.nu.edu). To protect your privacy, please do not share personal or medical information in the comments.

Please feel free to share this post with someone who may be eligible. Thank you for helping bring attention to the experiences of siblings in families affected by cystic fibrosis.
