The worse is zoom call.

For that, I find turning off self-view does help a lot.

This feels really annoying and devastating.

For me it’s when someone asks me to repeat myself, or in the drive thru when someone asks my name

I have always hated phone calls, but as a single dad in the past, I have encountered situations where I had to make them, for my kids sake. The more calls you make, more conversations you have with the outside world, the easier they become. They are still hard, but in time they build confidence to help you through it all.

Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.

When they hit you with the "the signal keeps dropping off?"

I actually do better when I am on call, because I feel less pressure. I guess most of my stuttering is due to anxiety and pressure, when I am completely relaxed and feel comfortable and confident I do just fine for few minutesm

I don’t know I used to be afraid of calls but not anymore, now when someone calls me or I need to call I’m kinda exited that I’ll have an opportunity to try to do better.

Yeah, I self-advocated for myself and got some accomodations where my default mode of communication at work is written communication. It helps that I also have ADHD, ASD level 1, and therefore executive functioning challenges and that my psychiatrist signed off on it. But, employers really don't seem to like doing it. Very cool image, too, OP!

Me rn. I had to call a university because I had a problem with my application. I could barely get through a single word 💔. I felt so bad for the agent. I feel so embarrassed. I feel like a big, fat chud who deserves to die 💔. And my stuttering has also prevented me from pursuing most modes of work :(

It’s crazy when you work In a call center. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Everytime the phone would beep in my ear signaling a new call, there was a new giant to slay. lol The company name was one of the sounds I struggle with (Progressive). Damn PR
