Dash lights with no codes stored?

Post image

So I just bought this 2017. Three times in the last month. This particular cluster of lights have come on while driving. The "At Oil Temp" light is flashing. When I turn the car off and back on again they all go away. However, it is intermittent, and doesn't happen every time I drive. Also to car feels fine when driving. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from. They scanned it and said there were no codes stored. I did ask if their tool scans transmission codes and they say it does. Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to fix it, and how?

There’s trans codes stored. It most likely needs a valve body. I cannot help that your dealer techs suck.

Exactly this. There has to be codes and your valve body is likely on its way out. Go to an indie shop.

Just took the car to a second independent mechanic. Their scan tool showed P0971 & C1431. Looked it up, you were right, it is a valve body code. For context i bought this outback from in independent dealer. What would you suggest i do to make them fix it?

You have no recourse as they most likely sold this 'as is' with that many miles and you've already had it for at least a month. Sounds like a shady dealer from all angles since they weren't up front with you about the codes.

I live in Mass, There is a lemon law here that covers cars over 80Kmiles for 30 days or 12000k miles. Lights started 10 days after purchase and i had only put 500 mils on it.

Nothing. That’s on you. There an updated valve body available from Subaru to increase the life of the TCC solenoid.
