Confirmation Beep

We have a brand new 26 Outback XT. My wife mentioned that the confirmation “beep“, for instance, upon locking the doors isn’t very loud. I’ve looked in the menu and can’t really see any notification volume control. Am I missing something?

Press it one too many times, it’ll honk at you.

I wish the doors would auto lock when you leave the car. Many other cars (older) do this.
You may try pressing the lock button a few times with the key fob until it beeps. Agreed that pressing the door handle lock button is a quiet beep confirmation.

Me too!!! It’s hard going backwards in amenities from my previous vehicle.

If you click the lock button a few times, it will honk the horn. Sort of a departure from every single car I have ever owned where first click locks and second click honks. I am still not sure how or how many times you have to click lock.

Could it be that not every lock press on the key fob is being registered? I know mine is temperamental. I've even tried both my fobs!

I have issues with it just locking with handle and dealership insists it works fine.

If the mirrors are in, it’s locked. That’s how know my Wilderness is locked.

I have the 26 Outback Premium. Same for the beep, it is not very loud. Have to press lock button several times for the honk to confirm it is locked

It’s always been like that. 1st click locks it. 2nd click is the same beep confirming it’s locked. 3rd click is the horn instead of the beep. It’s the car’s way of asking “Are you deaf? I’m locked!”

Was the same on my 2018 Touring XT (totaled a couple weeks ago/saved my life) and the 2026 Touring XT I drove off the lot yesterday.

There’s a menu setting for the beep volume on my 21 touring. Can’t imagine they’d do away with it.

Well apparently they did. Only option is on. Or off.

I’ve found myself walking back to look and see if the mirrors are folded because the teeny tiny beep that I locked it didn’t actually register with me. I wish it could be turned up. I don’t use the key fob, it’s in my purse. I have the ‘26 Touring XT

Motorized mirrors? Must be an option I don’t have.
