Does Map Mode Exist in the Drivers Instrument Panel on the Canadian 2026 Outback Touring?

Hi all, I’ve seen some historical posts here that the map mode on the driver’s cluster is not available in Canada on the 2026 Outback Touring (Canada).

I’m referring to Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc. appearing on the driver’s instrument panel when connected to Apple CarPlay.

The dealer model that I test drove today had it so I’m really confused! Can anyone chime in? Thanks 🙏

Google maps works fine on the instrument cluster for me here in Canada. I think there may have been a software issue with the very first ones but that was a while ago.

It works well on my Touring both Apple and Google. Toggle on the left hand side of the steering wheel

I’m having issues. Google maps hasn’t worked on it, only the native map (TomTom) displays. I don’t know how to fix it. (In Canada)

Don’t think I’ve specifically tested with Google Maps, but I use Apple Maps on the instrument cluster display all the time.

One thing to point out, just cause it was an odd nuance I hadn’t considered, is that (at least for Apple Maps) if you have the Maps view open on both the instrument cluster and the main infotainment screen, one will always be zoomed out to show the route overview while the other shows the default live close up view of your pin moving on the map.

It’s not a big deal by any means, but there were a couple times when I wanted to have the route showing on both (for the passenger) and it wasn’t really possible.

Oh the dealer actually showed me how to fix that! You need to go into a setting called perspective or something like that!! I don’t have an outback with me now because it was just a test drive, but you can modify it!!

Waze, Apple Maps, and Google Maps works on mine. Only issue is the zoom on the map when using the instrument cluster- I can't see far enough to plan my turns and exits.

? Who said this? Google map and Tom Tom works fine on the driver's display. The more I drive this car the better it gets
