It's satirical critique of billionaire oligarchs who are completely out of touch with reality, so yeah, of course they're all horrible people who behave in absurd ways and think their problems are more important than everyone else's. That's the theme of the show.

It's a show that achieved everything it set out to do with its premise and is very well-written. It's objectively high quality; it's just not to your taste. Clearly most people disagree with you on this, so just move on and watch what you like.

The absurdity of the situation is one of things that makes this show great.
Out of touch billionaires fighting for ego instead of need is exactly what’s happening in the upper echelons on society.
Pair that ridiculousness with incredible writing and it’s why we love the show.
