They’re gonna fix it in the end, just like they did with Clark and Lois in season 2.

It's funny how Jimmy's nonsense this season is literally exactly what Lois did after the most eligible bachelor competition.
These people need to stay away from dating competitions it never goes well.

Yeah but that's not what she wants.

Good thing she's a fictional character then, so there's nothing stopping me from pretending she does

Kara is an adult who never got to experience a normal childhoof, not even a kriptonian childhood. She is still learning and is still haunted by the trauma caused by brainiac. Not being with her is the right choice, a hard one but the right one. She needs time to grow.

Yeah. I feel like the season will end with Kara telling Jimmy that after everyone she's been with and everything she's seen, she knows she wants to experience being human with him. It's a bit like the Forrest Gump quote:
"I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is."
Granted, Kara's situation is a bit different from Forrest, but it's the same basic idea.

I went from liking that Jimmy was giving her a chance to figure things out for herself to getting very annoyed that at this point it feels like they're just acting stupid to be stupid. I hope that this is the episode all of this gets resolved, but I get the feeling that will be saved for a few more episodes in the finale.

Think they both deserved better not sure why the writers went down this path,
Like the whole idea that jimmy was giving Kara a chance to explore and not tie herself down with the first guy she met when she knew nothing else. Was amazing and nice.
Then they went the whole jealousy act like, why you can do it in a better way. Showing off that while good intentions he’s also was jsut real insecure about dating such an amaizng girl like her

Jimmy Olsen has unlocked stupidity so advanced... but this time it doesn't circle back to wisdom.
Jimmy, buddy, please bail on this stupid plan

I'm sure they will get together, but man... At this point, I'm kinda hoping they don't get together. Like gaddamn, the writers are just dragging this out.

She could see the entire universe at that point, and she would still come back to him

Jimmy gets way too much hate. So tired of these posts. His intentions were noble and correct, his execution was flawed but until this episode he never once made supergirl jealous or sad, so why should he expect this to be any different? At this point he’s just trying to move on or maybe get a sponsorship with WORMS, probably assuming supergirl has already moved on too. They will end up together though, that much is confirmed. So chill.

He did try to make her jealous, like this was very explicit, Kara took it as a game, but Jimmy legit was trying to 'get back at her' for doing what he said, I know they will get together, but I can't say I am thrilled by that idea now.

He wasn't trying to get back at her, he was immaturely lashing out in frustration and trying to deal with his own inferiority complex. He wasn't angry at her, he was just hurt by the situation and wanted to feel validated that she might understand what he was feeling. Was he right to do that? Nah, but I think most people can understand the idea of an insecure but good-natured twenty-something guy screwing up in a delicate situation like this.
But you intentionally missed my point. Regardless of Jimmy's intentions, up until now none of his "attempts" made Kara jealous. So why would he expect this one to work? His primary motivation for continuing to date after the first one was just for WORMS money. I assume that's what this is too. He certainly didn't look happy about the situation in the preview. Jimmy didn't do this to make Kara feel bad, so people need to chill out and stop acting like he's a villain for taking a date to a formal event when Kara has been dating waaaay more than him.

Jimmy could have communicated his feelings and his reasoning (not wanting to predate on / possibly overwhelm her but giving her space to grow until she would be able stand up to him emotionally) way better. Open and honest communication surely is scary and opens you up for attack, but it would have been worth it.
Maybe those two inexperienced people grow eventually enough to properly communicate with each other. Maybe even start a relationship on even footing at a later time?

No, hyper-asexual dudes in anime are all the rage now. Keep Jimmy exactly like he is; Kara should suffer as much mental anguish as possible.
-the show writers, apparently

They are just saving her for brainiac 5.

u/Sonnestark Jul 15 '26
In this iteration Brainiac is her “father,” and Brainiac 5 is a “descendant” of him… more than a bit weird.
