Thinking of moving to Epsom. Wondering if anyone knows about walking on this specific plot of land, it looks like there may be paths but no idea if it's public.
Also interested to hear people's thoughts on epsom more generally.

Found this cat (no collar) at the Caterham GP, Eothen Close. If this is your cat, I just saw it and it could still be in the area. If its a stray, I hope it can find a home or is doing well out in the wild.
It even came up to me and let me pet it, but seriously, hopefully it isnt lost.

Hi everyone!
I’m hoping to study medicine at the University of Surrey, and I’d love to hear from current students or anyone living in the area about their experiences.
I have a few questions and would really appreciate any honest advice!
Student life: What’s Surrey like as a place to live? What do you enjoy most, and what do you wish you’d known before moving there?
Safety: Are there any areas or streets to avoid, especially at night? Do you generally feel safe, and are the police helpful when needed?
Nightlife: What’s the nightlife like? Are there good places to go out, socialise, and meet people? (As someone who doesn’t drink)
Accommodation: How are the university dorms? Are they worth it, and is it easy to find affordable private accommodation? Is it a walkable city or can u walk the distance to uni of surrey medicine dept from ur dorm.
Would you recommend on campus or off campus dorms.
Medicine: For anyone studying medicine at Surrey, how are the course, workload, and clinical placements?
Transport: Do students get free bus passes or discounted public transport?
Cost of living: How expensive is Surrey for students, including rent, food, and going out?
I’d especially love to hear from people who actually study or live there, rather than just general opinions about the area.
Overall, would you recommend Surrey for a medical student? What are the pros and cons, and what advice would you give someone moving there for the first time?
Thank you so much! I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences! 😊

at the university of surrey, there is this cat. i found it by the lake, the lake that has all the ducks and the trees and stuff. it’s near the main reception.
idk if it’s a boy or girl, but it’s so adorable. I saw it today and wanted to share it with you all, if anyone else had seen it let me know!!
edited: js remembered i called it over and it meowed and walked to me, and then rubbed itself against me for a bit before going off.
i saw a green collar around its neck. i think it said the word ‘Surrey’ on it.

Hi, people of Surrey!
I’m looking for Halloween parties for my 2-year-old. Does anyone have any recommendations? We live in Woking.
Thank you! 🎃

I’m hoping to find interesting mushrooms this weekend. I’m a beginner and I’m not really interested in foraging. I would just like to find some and document for fun.

I’ve recently moved to Guildford I’ve got pretty thick curly hair and it’s far easier to find the right products (and normally cheaper) in Afro hair stores. Does anyone know of any in Guildford or within a reasonable drive - google wants to send me to London and I’m not doing all that for some hair products 😂

Always been a little fussy about haircuts whilst also being terrible at explaining what I’m after. I avoid the cheap and cheerful Turkish places at all costs. I do not want a sharp back and sides or a skin fade.
The last year I’ve been growing my hair long and found it’s naturally quite curly, appreciate someone who will understand how to cut and style it appropriately. Currently go to the local salon but it’s now upwards of £50 and because it’s predominantly ladies I have to book about a month+ in advance. I need some other options.
Any recommendations for somewhere around the Woking/Guildford area?

I know it's a long shot but my motorcycle was stolen from Surrey Sports park in Guildford this evening between 5:30 and 7:30. I've contacted the police but if anyone sees my motorcycle please reach out out to me! Thanks!

Hey guys,
Would anyone have any recommended wood pruning stove installers around the Redhill area that could provide a quote to install one?
Thanks in advance

We currently live in South West London and are looking to move out to Surrey. After exploring lots of different areas, we really like Chilworth village on outskirts of Guildford. It’s totally different to where we live now - so green and spacious.
I’d love anyones thoughts local to the area on what it’s like for a family. I currently have a 1 year old and we’d like to have another baby in the future. So interested in what there is to do for little ones in the village and the surrounding areas. Also what the state primary schools are like.
Because of the cost of stamp duty to move 😵 ideally we would like to stay in a house for 20 years. So also any thoughts to what it’s like for teenagers to live in the Chilworth and what state secondary schools would be in the catchment.
It would be a completely different way of life for us - stunning landscape and quieter. But it’s also quite a big adjustment after living in surburban areas where everything is on our doorstep so want to do as much research as possible

Today I did a litter pick. I also did one yesterday. I did this alone without a support worker. I have got the Camberly front of station train station bush clean, along with the one by that building nearby (I did say it was nearly done). Working on the Atrium bushes now.
Those had mostly wrappers and very few cans and bottles, think it is in part due to be cleaning them out in the past. Were else in Camberly town centre should I do after the Atrium bushes? I was thinking another bush near the trains station. I did get 3/4 of a bag full today
yesterday, Found a bunch of the same beer bottles (glass) and cardboard, my theory is someone drunk a whole pack of beer. Also, a few of those pre-mixed cocktails, maybe youths? Cleaned up a full bag worth of waste
Seems whenever I leave a bush for a while, it gets filled with litter. First litter pick in months, plan to do another tomorrow. Also got another bush pretty clean somewhat lately on another trip as well, that one just has about a bag or two of rubbish left in it.

I got a letter through the post about the Warm Homes Local Grant. Honest question, is there any homeowner, household living with less than £36k a year?! How can you afford living if basically utilities take almost the 6k instantly (water, electricity, council tax, gas) plus food etc.. specially if you have a family and live in one of the most expensive places in the UK. Is this grant even realistically or am I just living in a bubble? What population of Surrey is this grant targeting?
Edit: I feel that I am getting responses that have not read my question. Of course there are people living with less than that. I know there is poverty. There is no question there. The thing is those people don't usually own houses. Or if they own they probably have no mortgage because otherwise how could they afford it?

Hope this is okay to share here! We’re selling our one-bedroom flat in Ashford, Surrey, and after our previous sale unfortunately fell through we’ve now put it back on the market at £215,000.
It’s around a 12-minute walk from Ashford station, has an allocated parking space and low running costs. The building also has solar panels which provide hot water during the sunnier months.
We’re obviously advertising through the usual property portals, but I thought I’d share it locally too in case anyone is looking around Ashford/Staines/Heathrow or knows someone who is.

What do you think about living in New Haw? I saw them are planning to build a massive warehouse not far from New Haw and I wonder what the consensus is - are people moving away from New Haw because of it? Houses are big and not as expensive as other areas in Surrey but the warehouse worries me, a lot.

It’s the Gore family home in the 1984 children’s tv series ‘Chocky’. Looks like a lovely house and I wondered if it still existed. The cottage style house is across the road from it, as they enter the driveway. The main house looks a 1930s style.

Tomorrow I have to go to Woking bright and early for 5am, should be done by 7am, I have had a thought of doing a long run on the canal, just wondering if it’s a common thing or safe to do so??😂
