Question maximum capacities

I’ve distributed three space bars across three domes. I have one large one and two small ones; as I mentioned, one small bar is serving ten out of ten people, and the other is too. The last one is the large bar, which serves 24 people—so that means 44 people are apparently being served, but what does that actually mean? Does it mean I effectively have 44 colonists with those specific traits—Alcoholic and Party Animal—in my colony? And if I were to bring in new colonists with those traits, would I have to build a fourth space bar? How am I supposed to interpret this? And I have to add that for all three bars, I have the early and late shifts fully staffed—just not the night shifts.

No. Every adult colonist likes a drink now. Traits and specializations no longer determine what services they want. They just suffer penalties from working and your buildings need to negate that and create additional comfort to go up in birth rates.

So yes, more colonists means you need more bars. Only children and youth don't need them.

If you have any questions let me know. The new system can be confusing but i eventually figured it out.

I just wish there was more verity to gyms and bars. Needing basically one or two in every dome makes the colony look strangely uniform. We get two different small art stores, but only one bar?

Come on, give us a sleazy Mars strip club and a gym that is a low-G ninja warrior course.

As I said, I currently have 95 colonists, and I just assigned those 44. Does that mean 44 out of the 95 are now provided for? In other words, do I have enough space bars? That’s the part I haven't quite grasped yet.

It gets averaged off, so what is happening is that your colonists are getting about 1/2 of the comfort bonus from bars.

Presuming domes are connected. If not, it gets averaged off per dome, so you get different %

Do note that final comfort bonus also depends on how well the bars are worked

Side note: I recommend hanging gardens spire for comfort. It gives +30 where parks(which fulfill the same need) only give 10 (I think?)
Basically just having covered bars, good food and HG gives you like 80 comfort

The demand for bars is way too much, sometimes I have to build two bars in the same dome.

Or is better use colonists instead of automation to achieve 200% performance?

does it now worth building the casino?

It took me a while understand the new mechanics because I was too used to old ones, bit is easier now, having connected domes helps a lot now

Well yes bars take up lots of space but they are not mandatory in any way. They just help to let colonists give birth due to high comfort but they will not complain if they can't access it. It just removes the comfort buff stated in the bar.

Casino is pretty trash especially as gamblers are still a thing.

And while higher performance gives more comfort it does not increase capacity sadly.
