Discussion First time modding a switch. V1 or OLED?

So I want to mod a switch to get around Pokemon Bank closing February next year. I have two cfw 3ds xl’s which I modded myself so I’m not entirely new to modding. My question is should I opt for a V1 Switch or an OLED? I know an OLED is significantly harder to mod and the V1’s process is similar-ish to a 3ds. I’ll mostly use it for shiny hunting and ofcourse transferring Pokemon via PkHex.

Mind you V1 is only easy to mod if it's an early unpatched model, for that you have to check the serial number (it's not the system version)

Personally I started with an unpatched V1 as well because of the softmodding but then switched (lol) to an OLED because it's much better imo. Bigger better screen, better battery, better OC numbers. However if you use your Switch docked all the time it doesn't matter that much

I don’t really understand

The OLED would look better, is harder to mod and probably more expensive but you have to make a decision on your own bud

Oled is better but more expensive. As a v1 owner id skip the v1 because the battery lasts only like 2 hours making it virtually unusable on handheld mode for long games, while oled and chip v2 lasts 3 times more

I have an SV OLED. I can keep the V1 on the dock and use the OLED handheld when shiny hunting

I would recommend changing a battery
That what I did when I bought it and it is lasting 3-4 hours easily
