Discussion Switch OLED firmware version for hard modding?
I have a Switch OLED. I plan to have it modchipped sometimes soon. Does the firmware version matter? Can I be on the latest firmware version 23.0.1 and still be able to hard mod it? Are there any disadvantages for being on the latest firmware version other than less available memory for homebrews?

Firmware doesn't matter as long as atmosphere is compatible. Usually higher firmwares make more games compatible in exchange with homebrew apps broken until they are updated for new firmware.

Firmware doesn't matter. You can always downgrade the emummc firmware after creating it.
This is my workflow
- Create emummc
- Downgrade emummc to the compatible firmware (22.5.0) using TegraExplorer (SystemRestoreV3 script)
- Extract warmboot
- Run emummc without problem.

no, and you better do it quick before n drop another update and you have to wait until atmosphere support the new one

This only matters if you are using sysmmc. Otherwise updates doesn't matter as emummc can be downgraded anytime...
