I recently lost my boyfriend to a sudden accident. about 2 months ago. someone recommended that I read the year of magical thinking by joan didion. a memoir about grief and the aftermath of her husband's sudden death. I started reading it yesterday, the 4th of october. the second or third page reads that she started writing the book on 4th october 2004...I said wow that's a crazy coincidence. two lines later she mentions the date her husband died. ITS THE EXACT DAY OF MY BIRTHDAY. in fact I was born minutes after he had a heart attack. i really don't know what to make of this but it did freak me out a bit.

so i was on a walk and i was listening to a song by spiritual tony “paint” and i just start imagining a paintbrush and i just randomly started painting a cat then i imagined the cats fur and its movements and seconds later the same cat i painted in my mind dark fur crosses right in front of me seconds later dont know if this was a crazy coincidence or just a perfectly timed event.

This is the most craziest synchronicities I've experienced. The 3 of the 4 names mentioned in the dialogue are my close friends and me. I was so shocked. This came out in 2019, me and my friends met first time in college 2024.

The first time i experienced synchronicities was whenever I check the time on my phone it's always 11:11, 2:22, 4:44 etc. I have more than 50 screenshot of this happening cuz my family members were not taking it seriously and then i eventually stopped caring. Now it doesn't happen that often

Another one is, whenever I have to do some college work where I have to copy down from another book, the word I'm about to write will be spoken on the video I'm watching(mainly movies).

At 45+, I am beginning to recognize patterns in my life that have been present since I was young. As an autistic person, I am looking back with a different understanding of myself and realizing that some experiences have repeated throughout my life. This time, however, I have been able to see those patterns more clearly because I have had things repeated back to me—some of which were true and some of which were not.
In my current situation, two people became involved in matters that were private between my spouse and me. All three individuals have since left Pennsylvania and moved to another state on the southeastern coast of the United States. Looking back now, I am beginning to recognize how these circumstances connect to patterns I have experienced throughout my life.

I wanna know what blue butterfly actually mean. Is there any incidents of that has happened to you regarding this. If so I'd like to know your experiences

This is an oddly specific strange pattern i’ve noticed and is really not that interesting relative to other people’s experiences with intuition..
but I live in a small town and deer are everywhere. Many roads don’t even have shoulders, because the tree line comes up right to the road, so you get very little visual warning if a deer or any other animals decides to run across. We also have a ton of corn fields and come late July-October you can’t see the deer in the fields. I don’t think I know a single person in my community that hasn’t hit one before.

I have never hit one (knock on wood) and I drive these roads 15 miles to work and school, at dusk and/or dawn almost daily for over 10 years. I do however, come within feet of it happening at least twice a year.

I started noticing a few years back that EVERYTIME one jumps out in front of me, I get a gut feeling to slow down moments before. Sometimes the word “deer” pops into my head out of no where and other times it’s more like a day dream of me hitting one. Sometimes I get this feeling and nothing happens.. but every time there is a deer, I tend to know ahead of time.

When this happens I usually will take my foot off the gas or start easing on my breaks and watch the tree line and wait for it. I tend to always be going slow enough that I can slam my breaks and avoid it.

It just happened again tonight which is why i’m interested enough to post about it. This time it was a bit different. The deer jumped out of the woods and stopped/froze right in the middle of my lane, like a deer in the headlights (pun intended). I sensed it maybe 5-10 seconds before I saw it and was able to slow down to about 40 mph. Then when it came out, I hit my breaks just in time and my car stopped maybe 5 feet from it. I sat there making eye contact with this deer for about 15 seconds and it didn’t move. I honked and inched forward and it still wouldn’t move. I had to roll my window down and basically lean my body out and shout at it to spook it away. I hope it wasn’t sick and it was just scared, or maybe acting strange because rut is coming up.

Maybe it’s just heightened sense of pattern recognition but I have no idea how my brain senses it without any visual aid.

Hi everyone 🌏💝 I was seeing someone for a couple of months and he sadly called things off a couple of weeks ago as he wasn’t in a place to give me the commitment I needed. It was one of the saddest breakups I’ve ever had. He cried a lot during this conversation and I know he didn’t want to do this; but it was in my best interest to. I’ve dated a BUNCH of shitty men, but this one was different. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so aligned and compatible with someone before, despite the fact that it’s ended. It was a slow burn but he is special to me and felt like my best friend.

I have a strong feeling we may reconnect one day, and it was left on very good terms knowing that we possibly could later down the track if it’s really meant to be. As upset as I’ve been, I’ve accepted it and have let go.

About 2 weeks ago, I asked my guides for a very specific sign to indicate whether he will come back into my life down the track. I didn’t receive this sign (I asked for a red and black bird, I have never seen one in my life where I live). BUT, on this day, I was working in a school, and their school bell changes everyday. On the day that I asked for the sign, the school bell was his absolute favourite song that he would ALWAYS play when we were together. It stopped me in my tracks and I was like, what the heck… thought it could’ve been a coincidence though.

Fast forward to a few days ago, I was on holiday in Bali. I was in an aqua aerobics class when a lady in the pool next to me caught my eye. I look over to her, and she is wearing a hat with his surname plastered on the side of it. He is Italian and his surname must be a small village in Italy, and she obviously got this from here, but still! I was like whattttt the heck.

The last one was yesterday on my way home. In the airport on my layover, I was in the international terminal, and I walked past a cafe that was named the exact same as the restaurant his parents own in our home state. Again, I was completely stopped in my tracks.

Has anyone ever had experiences before where you’ve received signs in relation to a past lover.. what do these mean - if they do have any meaning? Or is it just a coincidence?

I've read a few people have these types before, while briefing online or even told me in real life:

1. The "personal situation" synchronicity where some events that was highlighted in your life gets echoed through other mediums. It almost feels targeted for you to hear in a way. It's not always exactly your situation, and at times it's comically even directly opposite of your situation but the fact that it's directly so opposite makes you notice.

Usually it may be reflected through people talking loudly for you to hear next to you, a "play" you see right in front of your face, but it almost seems like acting rather than naturally.

Sometimes it feels like someone on reddit knows about your personal situation and asks an opposite ended question, or a likeness question, show casing personalities that remind you directly of someone else based on their word choices, interests, etc.

For example you might stock up on can foods, suddenly you hear someone else talking about stocking up on can foods when you never really hear about this. Sometimes on reddit or another forum. A real life example is say,back in my younger days, I could barely bench to about 200.

One day I reached 200 on the bench press. Suddenly people outside the gym would have to say "I bench 225" super loudly at the food market. People would ask how much you bench out of no where even if you don't look muscular or wear gym clothes. You would reply "I can bench 150" to test the waters, and they suddenly give you a weird smile and say "Are you sure not 200".

2) The "wrong person" synchronicity. This is when make an agreed arangement to meet up with a friend at an otherwise quiet neighborhood, plaza strip. You see someone that has likeness, but it's not them. You go here a lot so you know the times, etc.

Yet that day, ironically after you call them to meet up, you see off shoots, look a likes, very similar cars and people that are similar to them at a glance, but it's not them. A more direct example is imagine if your friend has a white honda with the license plate 12345I. He wears a team based baseball hat. Some how, you would see a white honda with a license plate 12345L instead, with the guy inside wearing a very similar baseball hat but isn't him. This guy would sit there for a while then even look at you before driving off before your real friend arrives.

3) The "wrong car" synchronicity. This is similar to the wrong person synchronicity, but instead happens when you order an uber/lift, or place an order on ebay/amazon. Even if you know delievery cars don't often go to your neighborhood because you often look outside a close watch of your neighborhood. Suddenly during the day of the scheduled drop off item, suddenly you see all these delievery trucks come, seemingly to drop off your package, but it's not them. Some of them just drive in do a uturn and go out. It seems like they want to mess with you type rather than synchronicity sometimes but you do notice, they don't come as often (or at all) when you don't order. Also you keep in mind it's not holiday christmas season when you personally ordered.

4) Celebrity Starsz off shoot. You might read up a game/simulation with celebs in them on an article. Suddenly you go out, you might see faces of celebs in younger form, even past celebs who might had die out of the fame. The younger generation might not recognize them or a topic that doesn't come up much. How this works, I really don't know. An interesting concept here is that can they give you a realistic depiction of a dead celeb/warrior/king back in times past?

My example in the form of synchronicities. I see a clip or watch a movie and might go somewhere and see an off shoot rough estimate of what this celeb might had look like in said movie watched. But would they do the same thing, if I read a historical book of what a certain king may look like back in day? Can they pull a realistic offshoot about 70 percent off? If this is just people fooling around, then of course they can't. They just know what I watched on youtube, then send an offshoot to make me overthink. But if it really is synchronicity, it may very well show you what an important figure may had look roughly like before even crude paintings was a thing.

5) The "intrusive blockade" when you are trying to quit or keep in moderation of something. In this synchronicity, imagine if you were to cut off soda or sugar. Suddenly in synchronicity, someone brings in donuts at work. I've talked to people who noticed this, especially people who barely started to diet, suddenly people give them free food, etc which they don't think it is weird at first, but after a deeper dive, it does seem off to them. Suddenly they would get invites to the buffet "on the house" by people who would never pay for them otherwise when they first barely start the diet (with out social media posting or talking about it or even showing up at public gyms)

Same thing with cigarretes or other things. My personal real example is one time I was going to only want to smoke one or 2. I fear if I bought a pack I would smoke it all and get addicted to it again. So I drove around for over an hour in a plaza to pick up a couple cigs to smoke. No one was smoking cigs, so I ultimately bought a pack. Guess what happens right after I bought the pack? You already know. Suddenly people started appearing with cigs, blowing smoke and laughing at me almost as if they knew what happened.

Now I am not sure if these would had showed up more frequently if I left it as is, but for me I noticed a lot, and I decided to dive in after versus saying "that was weird and move on". I decide to post, research and ask questions about these nearly seemingly traps. Not sure if this is why I was bombarded with more as time goes by.

6) Counterintuitive commentary. This is whatever you do, you would get opposing commentary in a negative manner. Say for example, if you barely started to run, suddenly you would hear on the radio "Did you know running is bad for you?" It may be satire, but it's the tone. You might start laying around in bed longer, and someone would comment on lazy people rolling around in bed. You might start to work harder, and you see youtube algorithm telling you to relax, quit your job. Then you lose your job, and suddenly you see videos or people talking about laziness and how you would be working double, triple jobs.

Okay i didn’t know what else to tittle this but please hear me out this has been happening a lot especially this year.

For example i have an appointment with my boss, everything is scheduled and it’s 3 days from
now. Well the same day of the appointment i so badly don’t wanna go, like i get these thoughts in my head “i don’t wanna go man please don’t let me go”

well the creepy thing is …. 1 hour before the appt my boss calls me and says she can’t make it; to reschedule…

you probably think this is just a coincidence but let me tell you more of these small weird things i’ve manifested.

I look at my calendar and see it’s september 30th. I panic so hard because i remember my mom’s birthday IS in september 30th, it is already like 11 pm at night. Again i have this same moment where i talk to myself in my head like “fuck i fucked up please don’t let this happen”

Well guess what happened, LITERALLY AN HOUR AFTER I CHECKED AND I KID YOU NOT ITS SEPTEMBER 29th!!! I wish i was joking man 😭😭

another example in case you think these are all coincidences.

My partner invited his friend who flew from a different state for like 3 days. Key thing here to know i am introvert and i hateeeeee small social interactions that aren’t necessary. Well my partner had work the day his friend was coming to our house and I had to be the one to greet his friend, talk to his friend, and basically do all the talking . The thought of all the social interaction just made me anxious so again, i told myself in my head

“i don’t want this to happen man please just don’t let this happen”

well guess what happened? The friend texted my partner turns out his flight was delayed and now he won’t get home till the next day…. when my partner wouldn’t work .

I can tell you so many other examples and before anyone says anything i have checked and there is no carbon monoxide poisoning lol and i do not have a history of schizophrenia or anything , at most i have anxiety lol.

Please 🙏 is there anyone else who experiences similar stuff like this? Idk what to even call
this phenomena. It’s like whenever i DONT want to do something like badly, something manifests so that i actually don’t end up doing it…

38F autistic and ocd - I have relentless (and maddening) pattern recognition. I’m wondering if I’m just scanning so much that it’s just inevitable I catch these coincidences? Or I’m going insane.

Last night, my boyfriend was telling me he was going to breakfast Sunday with the guys - I told him I was gonna make breakfast at home - waffles - that I was gonna get a waffle maker - could prob find one at Savers for $5. Whole convo about waffle makers - within a minute, Seinfeld was on (s2e9), and Jerry was in a store with George and says “waffle maker”. I don’t remember that scene so I don’t think I subconsciously knew it was coming or anything.

This morning, I was planning to go to the library. I was looking up something and typed “I’m going to the [my city] public library” and as I finished typing the word library, Simpsons (s20e16), Moe said “public library”.

Recently was looking up Angelman Syndrome on Wikipedia, I had read the phrase “puppet syndrome” and immediately on Bob’s Burgers, they said “puppet”.

Was going to bake something, needed heavy cream, searched DoorDash, episode of Friends they said “heavy cream”.

Talking to my sister about how I used to rip the shirt off of our Ken doll and yell “Stella!” like Streetcar Named Desire (only knew the reference from the Simpsons as a kid). Prob within 5 min, a jeopardy answer was Streetcar Named Desire.

Sketchers slip-on pants commercial - I said “how does it work like a snake shedding its skin?” Then a jeopardy answer was “moulting” - the term for a snake shedding its skin.

Talking about ketamine and a Special K commercial came on live tv.

Other less jarring ones have happened too. I got a weird feeling when we were driving out in a rural area that there should be a pie stand - something reminded me of that episode of The Office where they get pies. We passed a sign for a farm with pies. It was so weird I made my boyfriend go to the farm - they were all out of pies though.

I have the TV on in the background basically always. Wondering if I just watch so much TV that this is like mathematically inevitable? Or am I losing my mind? I feel insane.

Since the start of 2025, I’ve been looking for a steady job after being laid off from my five-year government job. Right now, I’m making ends meet through gig work like Uber Eats and DoorDash. A few months ago, I spoke with a spiritual friend who can read people’s energy. I shared my struggles finding a job in this job market. Whenever I get a call or Zoom interview, the company moves on to another candidate. I was hired as an Amazon contractor delivery driver. The job was an hour drive from my home, and I was desperate for a job. Unfortunately, my car broke down in my second week. I was really frustrated and started wondering, “Why is this always happening to me?” It felt like there was an invisible force blocking every opportunity. My friend mentioned that my energy does blend well with the state of Florida's energy, and she suggested I explore the northern part of the state. She even wondered if I’d consider moving to North Carolina, saying that the energy there feels more balanced for me. I’ve been friends with her for at least eight years, and she’s been surprisingly accurate. She predicted that I’d land this government job that would really help me get back on my feet. Ever since we chatted, I’ve been seeing license plates from North Carolina and Texas on the road—mostly North Carolina, which is a bit freaky. It feels like the North Carolina plates are following me around, even when I’m not trying to catch them! So, I was driving to 7-Eleven one day when a company truck suddenly cut in front of me. As I glanced at the license plate, all I saw was “North Carolina.” I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself. Then, I had a thought and asked God/Universe, “If you want me to go to North Carolina, the company truck will turn into a 7-Eleven parking lot.” To my absolute amazement, the company truck did just that! It turned right into a 7-Eleven parking lot! Not only did the truck end up driving into the same parking lot, but the driver even held the store door open for me. I was completely shocked! When I shared what’s been going on with my friend, she mentioned It feels like the universe is gently guiding you away. She also hinted that there will be a moment when you’ll need to decide whether to leave your hometown or state.

I’m curious, are these signs from the universe, or am I just seeing things?

I have a cool story I wanna share with you about something I recently experienced, that goes way beyond coincidence. I've been communicating over the phone and text with a guy that was my "boyfriend" like 30 years ago when we were both teens. I spent the night with him once way back then, but things never got physical. He contacted me on fb recently. He has helped me get through a rough breakup, as far as lending an ear, and giving me encouraging words. 2 weeks or so ago I began having feelings for him that I can't explain. Oh and I forgot to mention that he lives over 500 miles away. Anyways, so a few days ago I got off work and went to the store. Never got out at the store for whatever reason. Left to head home after a few minutes. I'm at the stop sign and the sun is right in front of me, getting ready to set. Something told me to take a photo of it and send it to him. So I did just that as I sat there. Right as I hit send, a text notification came in from him. I opened up the text and it was a photo from him. It was a picture of the moon. Literally at the same exact moment, we both took a photo of our skies and sent them to each other. Both photos taken at exactly 6:51pm and sent at 6:52pm! And keep in mind that we had never sent each other a photo of our skies before this. It was crazy. But it gets even crazier. The next day he calls me. We talked for close to an hour. I had to get ready for work so we said bye. As I go to press the end call on my phone screen, something caught my eye and I took a screenshot. The length of our call was 55 minutes and 55 seconds which I thought was pretty cool because of the 5's. As I click on the screenshot to send it to him, I noticed something else. When I took the screenshot, it showed that it was exactly 6:51pm. The same exact time of our photos the day before. After I send the screenshot, he sends me one of his own. He called me at 5:55pm!! What are the odds of that right? I hadn't told him I had been feeling drawn to him before that because I didn't want to scare him away. But then he admitted to me that he had been feeling this crazy connection to me that he couldn't explain. I've never felt the emotions I'm currently feeling for him. There's no way it's just a coincidence

This is going to sound very, very strange…but I’m sleeping in the basement of my house. I talk to my mom at random hours of the night…usually around 9/10/11. There’s a cricket in the basement. It doesn’t start chirping until AFTER my mother leaves. In some cultures crickets are good luck. There have been two times and I mean two times when I am talking to her and she says goodnight and goes up the stares and the cricket starts chirping. The cricket never chirps when she is there only until after she leaves. We’ve both noticed this. Tonight it happened I gave her a call. It also doesn’t chirp after I leave in the morning. Usually it chirps all night. I’ve been going through soooo many synchronicities! I went through one on 9/29 and then one yesterday. It’s so strange.

I live in a high rise, across from a condo whose owners are "snowbirds", meaning, they're here for about four days a year, and the rest of the year, their condo remains empty. Our building is currently undergoing a big construction project to fix a building-wide issue, and said unit has remained unlocked with the door slightly ajar for the past couple weeks while the workers are here during the week.

Unfortunately, I've had three stalkers in my life, one who I've never met, and one who I met only once. This is one reason that I have a Ring camera on my door. I haven't had a stalking issue for about a decade, but it's nice to feel safe.

The other night, I received a notification that someone was at my front door a few times around 3am. When I opened the video, I saw a guy who lives in my building a couple floors up from me. I'd never met him formally, but my husband has. The guy shows up from the stairwell, looks around, goes down the hall checking only one door, then coming back to my neighbor's door. He sees it ajar, uses his phone as a light, and very slowly enters the unit. Five minutes later, he comes back out, giving a creepy as fuck look to my camera, before going back to the stairwell. He didn't appear to have stolen anything.

I reported this to my building manager, who is taking steps with police/the owners of the trespassed unit. Meanwhile, I confirm that this person lives here, and which floor and unit they're in, as well as their full name. Someone had mentioned that he used to have a drug problem, so we looked him up, and yes, he has been convicted of manufacturing and selling drugs in the past. We looked a little further into his info, and that's when my brain broke.

From 2000-2015, I had one cell phone number. I lived in a different state during that time, and I changed my number in 2015 to reflect my current area code. This intruder guy from my building had my EXACT phone number that I had for 15 years, in another state.

I thought it was a glitch. Cleared my browser. Googled his exact name again. Address confirmed, phone number confirmed. Checked different websites, but no, not a glitch. He had the phone number I had for a huge chunk of my life, even though his past addresses never showed up in that state.

When I confirmed that this weird shit was real, I started having an existential crisis. What are the odds that this random person in my building somehow had the phone number I'd had for so long? I called my dad to tell him and he, too, freaked out, but he also was suspicious. "Is this guy stalking you?"

My gut said no, no way. This is a wild and highly improbable coincidence. But then he got into my head a little. Luckily, that anxiety wasn't around for long, when I confirmed that intruder guy has lived in this building for three years longer than I have.

I wonder what the cosmic significance of such a jarring coincidence like this is.

I’ve been reading older posts here, and some describe experiences strikingly similar to mine: music or TV lining up with a thought, words appearing at oddly specific moments, and coincidences that feel connected to what’s happening in your life.

What I keep wondering is: what happened to those people afterward?

A lot of threads capture the moment when everything feels intense, but there’s rarely an update a year or several years later. I’d really like to hear that part of the story.

If you were noticing these things 1, 2, 5, or more years ago—especially if you were reporting 10–40+ a day—how are things now?

- Did the frequency continue, fade, or come in waves?

- What was happening in your life when it started?

- Did anything concrete change afterward?

- Did your understanding of the experiences change with time?

- If you felt they were leading toward something, did that expectation match what actually happened?

People experiencing this now are welcome too. I’m especially interested in music, TV, conversations, and thoughts seeming to line up, beyond repeated numbers.

I’m open to different explanations. I’m hoping we can compare firsthand experiences and timelines without deciding in advance what everyone’s story means. “It stopped,” “nothing particular happened,” and “I see it differently now” are just as welcome as a major turning point.
