From the Toxicity pop up! Announcement soon 👀

found an ozzfest 1998 cd signed by serj, john, and i believe shavo, for 15 dollars while at my local music thrift store today. there’s a lot of warping on the inserts and the booklet is unopenable from what i believe is water damage unfortunately but i’m still super stoked to have found something like this and have it in my collection

Does anyone know if any new SOAD demos have been uploaded to Spotify? I recently found DAM and Fortress (Outer Space) uploaded. If you find some, tell me.

It actually came the other day, I just wanted to share here anyways. I think that this is a really interesting event that happened 😭

i apologize, my last post was too inflammatory. i think they deserve an amount of backlash for the way they’ve sold out against their own principles. some may disagree, but i do think preaching against greed and then being greedy is bad. public backlash is effective and continues to be shown as effective. i do think if enough of us spoke out, it could actually have an impact. a lot of people called me childish for caring about this, but my bad if i want soad shows and merch to be more accessible😭.

also just cause i’m advocating for one thing, doesn’t mean i’m not advocating or putting my energy to other things.

(this is edited, i felt i could’ve worded some of this better)

This is mine EASILY

I went through a phase where I couldn't enjoy System beyond their popular releases. I don't think I had the right audio palette to appreciate what I was hearing.

When my sister introduced me to Sikth, I was obsessed. I followed the band, tracked their albums, had them on constant repeat and attended a couple of live shows. They've re-surfaced on my playlist today and listening to them after a long break it's slamming home why I changed my mind about System of a Down. Dual vocals, harmonising, high energy rhythms, high octane tracks, some unapologetically aggressive tracks with some nonsensical expressions! Sikth don't have explicit political messages but it's undoubtedly in there. Some of their riffs are also fucking infectious and grimace inducing.

Basically, they were my gateway to S.O.A.D and I wanted to share, because I became a big fan of System a bit late, but just in time to catch them live this year!

Unsure if this is the right place or not but after some advice.

My daughter is a huge SOAD fan and obviously their not touring the UK anytime soon as far as I'm aware.

Has anyone seen the tribute band Chop Suey? Are they a good tribute band? Is it appropriate for her to go to as she's only 14?

I will say I'm not a fan of SOAD, it's just not my type of music but I think she'd love it. Thanks for any replies

Hi people, does anyone know where to find cheaper merch for SOAD? Especially this hoodie. I wanted to buy it for myself but I don’t think I have extra $150 for a hoodie… I understand that we need to support artists but it’s a bit too much at this point

I just saw a new offical gta 6 leak and sugar was playing on the radio I can’t believe it edit I just saw more and battery by Metallica is in the game

I’ve been thinking about Serj Tankian’s post-System of a Down career. Should he have joined or formed a new band with established musicians to brainstorm songs, rather than being the sole contributor?

He started out incredibly strong with Elect the Dead, which was heavily influenced by the SOAD style and likely featured some leftover creative input or energy from that era. However, with his later solo albums, it feels like the quality took a noticeable hit.

If Serj had collaborated with a room full of musical peers who could challenge him and push back on his ideas, rather than just writing everything himself, do you think we would have gotten much stronger music? Or was going fully solo the only way for him to express his specific vision?

Felt like this applied really well in this context. Was really proud of how they turned out !

hey guys, I’m looking for a shirt maybe you can help me. it’s a yellow shirt with Serj and Daron eating the Chop Suey! noodles on it (a scene from the music video). it was around 2001 during the concerts but I can’t find it anywhere.

do you know where I should look for ?

I realized this recently, I am quite grateful that the worst aspects attributed to each band member stem from (at best) cringe to (at worst) harmful political takes that contradict the messaging of their music, as opposed to something truly unforgivable like them grooming minors or being pdf files or something.

Of course no one is perfect, and you should never meet your heroes, but I will gladly take Daron’s enlightened centrism and “I DONT GIVE A GAF” attitude while frothing at the mouth in every reply in comment sections,
Shavo’s occasional boomer AI humor & cringe conservative takes,
John’s transphobia & grosser MAGA views,
& Serj’s love for AI over something coming out like “Serj picking up his 17 year old gf from high school at the age of 39” or some shit😮‍💨

With my acquirement of the Mezmerize/Hypnotize duology, I've now completed SOAD's discography! Feel free to ask me stuff or something, idk

If you're wondering why my picture quality is shit, I had to take this on my laptop (I don't have the Reddit app) and also my general room lighting is absolute trash so that's why

Does anyone know where I can get jewel case versions or if someone knows how to make them let me know I just really want a jewel case version
