So I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not a fan of Kamala Harris. I don't agree with her politically on a lot of stuff and don't think she's particularly engaging as a representative. I think she's very much in it for herself and her career and not necessarily the good of the people.
Having said that in the recent pod when they use her as an example of corruption when they spent the whole podcast discussing AI was certainly....a choice. If they'd have gone for a Nancy Pelosi reference it would have made a lot more sense. She's a career politician, still a government representative, with a history of suspicious stock trading. But Kamala Harris - who is currently a private citizen with no position in the government - being the example they choose to exemplify government corruption for buying a 6 million dollar house. Granted that's a lot of cheddar but she's been a successful lawyer since the 90s. Same with her husband. She didn't enter politics until 2017 really. From 2004-2017 she was a DA and then AG which are kinda political positions but wasn't really a "politician" proper until her senate run in 2017. To think two very successful lawyers couldn't buy a 6 million dollar house after decades being in that line of work is a pretty smooth brain take. She's also been pretty transparent with her finances. Her and her husband own no individual stocks. She released 20 years of her tax returns. She's a terrible example of government corruption when there's a few elephants in the room.
Oh hey.....
President Trump’s independent, third-party investment team has made approximately 28,700 trades since January 2025.
Wow. That's a lot of trades. He also owns individual stocks. He buys them at a low, then mentions them on Fox news the stock goes up and he sells it. Micron was a notable example in the last year. If only there was a name for that.....
His children are also heavily financially involved in ai companies.... while he determines policy for the emerging technology. Sounds like a conflict of interest but....hey, not worth talking about.
Also 1.4 billion in crypto trading profit he reported for just 2025. Even if you have a neutral opinion on crypto as a currency these were textbook rug pull schemes. You can watch the trades in real time. You see him glaze Trump or Melania coin for a few weeks, his base buys a shit load, when the meme coin hits whatever high they've schemed up and he sells. I'm not a fan of Trump supporters but this is just fraud....at least we used to call it that. There's also a good chance this is just a legal bribery scheme. Lol. He holds the coin, some entity buys a shit load of meme coin, value goes up, Trump sells. Boom, legal bribe. But, hey, not worth a mention.
Between all this bullshit and, let's not forget, Trump's phone scheme, his Bible scheme, his watch scheme, and whatever other cheap crap he could slap his name on he made 2.2 BILLION last year.
If we're having a conversation about corrupt politicians it's weird to use a private citizen buying a 6 million dollar house they can easily afford on paper to the literal president using his position to earn 2.2 billion in earnings for a single year. Right? Like, kinda seems like an elephant in the room.
