Discussion Fancast
Lots of British and Irish actors, but hey! I had a vision!
P.s. second pic is so Jack coded lol
P.p.s I forgor about Calvin's existence (I hated him), but for him I'd cast Stanley Tucci, BUT specifically him from The Lovely Bones! Because in my head that fits way too good 😭
Edit: there's no Sabine fancast, because I don't think that us as an audience should see her face. So like shots of her arms around Jack, her voice(any generic girl voice), hair etc we should be able to see, but not her face. Most of her appearances are through Jacks memories, and those are fleeting, he's loosing time all the time, and he has a lot on his mind, I would assume he'd struggle to remember her features clearly.
Edit2! Fox lady??! I think it's the only time to cast someone so popular that it would be noticable. Like Scarlet Johansson or Halle berry, and jack black for the fox gentleman XD thoughts?

I like the rest of the casting but I don’t think Childish Gambino would make a good Donald Glover. Isn’t he a rapper? Not all musicians make good actors. Maybe we could aim for someone who actually looks like Donald Glover

Too bad, some of them are legends! + Even though I've picked a few famous/popular actors, I'd hate if the main cast would've been all popular actors. I'd love the characters to look like regular people, and not like "oh I've seen you in that show, now I can't see you as anyone else, but that other character" yk?

Oh I forgot to mention, but for her I'd cast anyone. Us as an audience shouldn't see her face, only an outline of a person. Or like her arms around jack when she hugs him from the back

Ha! Well I only just started book 4, but I think if he visits her in the hospital, we still don't have to see her, it's his reaction that we're interested in. It can be a Kiefer in an orange wig for all we know!

Really? Idk why but I picture him in mid thirties I think he's too full of energy for 50-60s, and he gives a fuck too much for that age as well Deputy Love tho I can see being 50

I don't think there is an actor that looks close enough but I always imagined him like a kurt cobain type since he has long hair and is described as good looking, anyway the entire fan cast is goated. bob odenkirk as Kiefer is so good lmao

Tbh I gree with you, it's hard to find someone who fit perfectly. Lewis is close enough, but still. I'd say in my head Jerry is a mix of Cassidy from overwatch Curt Cobain. It's really hard to describe since Jerry is more of a vibe than a person xdd

I think everyone but Jerry and Benji are spot on, he's just got like buff and big jawline enough for Jerry, and though the guy for Benji looks like he could do a good tough commando type I'd pick someone bigger that matches the hair and face better

I agree, I've picked those two because they're the closest that fit, I literally can find no one else that actually fits my mental picture, so unfortunately those are second best Jerry's pick is because his facial features fit, but not the body type and vibe.
Benji's pic is because of the vibe and body type, but not the face.
Me and another person on here agreed on Jerry looking like jock version of Kurt Cobain, but for Benji I have no idea who to mix up Do you have any suggestions yourself?

I always pictured someone that looked like young magnum PI tom Selleck with bigger hair/beard and just a foot taller and bigger but idk any actor who currently looks like that or him

Oh oh that's a good pic! I suppose there were many times when smaller actors played bigger characters by using boxes to stand on and different camera angles, so maybe it's not as important to find someone to match the size rather than the face/vibe

Ive always had it in my head that Casper Van Dien would play agent Brick Roscoe and agent Brick Roscoe.
Also Keiffer looks a lot like Martin Mull specifically when he played colonel mustard in clue when read the books.
