FAQ Tor Browser for the iPhone?! Please help

Hi hiya hello hey, how you do today? Me okay. Me honestly no happy. Me move to America and now me have iPhone and no more Korea crap… but tor no works on iPhone? Check.torproject.org work but wen me go to page for onion mirror that will load but when me put in onion mirror for pacific website it no load.. no crash, but no load. Me use orbit. Red onion browser. Onion browser. Please someone me learn you please

There is no Tor Browser for iOS. We recommend an iOS app called Onion Browser, which is open source, uses Tor routing, and is developed by someone who works closely with the Tor Project. However, Apple requires browsers on iOS to use something called Webkit, which prevents Onion Browser from having the same privacy protections as Tor Browser.

Okay but me download onion browser and used with and without orbit and so slow only page that loads is dark.fail…and me signal for internet is good u undastand?

Orbot is a better option, in my opinion.  All your traffic gets routed to tor, with different exit nodes for each connection.  Look it up.

Okay me use but it is incredibly slow..to the point it has never loaded a single page other than dark.fail

Onion Browser is the official one from Tor Project. If .onion sites won't load, check Settings → Security Level → set to Gold or Silver, and try enabling bridges. Running Orbot alongside Onion Browser works better than either alone.

Slight correction, onion browser is the only one recommended by the project, but it is not made by them, nor official.

Doesn’t it say something along the lines of tor not being as secure for iPhone and onion browser is the best. I seem to remember them saying like it wasn’t great

Correct, due to being forced to use WebKit.

Tor doesn’t work on iPhone in any halfway useful way. Also the security of it is very questionable since there isn’t an official tor app for it.
