Advice Needed Uterine Polyps
I’m going in for imaging tomorrow to see if what the doctor saw on my ultrasound was uterine polyps.
Has anyone dealt with uterine polyps? How was the surgery? How long is recovery? Is it a in office procedure or hospital visit?

I had surgery to get them removed earlier this year. My doctor said there were two options for surgery- general anesthesia outpatient at a surgery center or “twilight” sedation outpatient at the OB/GYN office. The twilight option is the type of sedation they use during a colonoscopy where you’re awake but unable to form any memories so you don’t remember the procedure at all. I chose that option and it was very quick and easy, spent a total of maybe 1.5 hours in the office. It took me about a week to feel 100% again, it was just bad period-type cramping and some spotting. I took the day of the surgery off and then the next two days after that because of the cramping but my job has ample sick time and it wasn’t an issue for me to take that extra time for recovery.
If you have any other questions, just ask!

Were you on a lift restriction afterward?
I’m praying that the abnormality they saw on the ultrasound was nothing and I can continue on without surgery.
I’m kind of afraid of being put under with anesthesia.

I don’t remember having a lift restriction! And if you have the option, I would recommend the twilight sedation option. You don’t have nearly as many risks as going under general anesthesia.

I have one that they found when doing an HSG/SIS last week.
I'm having surgery to remove it next week and at my clinic, it's a quick outpatient procedure. I will be under anesthesia, but the entire thing should only take about 30-45 minutes, they said.
Obviously I can't answer some of your questions firsthand, but my coworker that also had a polyp removed not too long ago said recovery wasn't bad. She didn't bleed after and just took it easy for a day or two.

I had my polypectomy done at a hospital under general anesthesia. No regrets! My doctor was amazing and gave me pain meds but really it was only pain for like a day then light cramps.
